They are what they are-- a piece of plastic to cover the cross-bars in front of the radiator which often becomes chipped. Honestly, no one will probably see these, even if you get a contrasting color. Personally, I think this is the last "mod" you really need.The plastic is just a tube with a slit down the side.FYI, yes, you can remove the kidney grills by reaching through the grill and carefully pulling/flicking on each clip with a large 90-deg pick or similar tool while applying gentle pulling force in the grille (check YouTube). I recommend doing this in warmer months so you do not risk breaking any plastic when it is cold and brittle. Otherwise, you must looden the top of the bumper to provide a gap to reach down
