I tried this tool on a Tesla model Y from 2024. Didn't work. Then I noticed a small hole on the side of the buckle. I tried using the tool while inserting a nail in that hole and the buckle opened.So it works, but the manufacturer should add this trick in his manual

Definitely recommend these if you need to remove your seatbelts. I can verify that it works for the 2023 Model Y

I needed something to release the buckle so I could clean inside, but honestly this is not the fault of the tool but rather Tesla. You have to use this tool underneath the buckle in order to release it and most users have to remove the side panel. I was hoping for a simpler way, but for now this does work and the metal is very thick.I have no worries this tool will break, it is just a hassle getting to underneath the buckle in order to use this heavy duty tool.

Ordered this to release the passenger side seat belt buckle from the bas cable. My 23 Model Y had a rattle coming from the passenger side seatbelt buckle. The fit of the mechanism that holds the buckle to the cable is loose causing the rattle. The rattle was only apparent when the seat was unoccupied. I used this tool to remove the buckle. It was very easy and worked perfectly. One ce buckle was off, I slid a short section of 1/2” heat shrink tubing over the cable end and used a heat gun to shrink it. I placed the tubing such that it requires a little force to get the buckle back on. Rattle gone.
