Not impressed. Boot slipped off on first drive shooting grease everywhere

My wife's Forester had the front axle boots damaged during an engine swap. I tried fixing them with a new boot kit, but the cheap clamps the new boots come with, popped off while on the highway, slinging grease everywhere. I gave up on replacing the new boots and just replaced the axles. I ended up wasting lots of time and money on boots when the new axles are not too much more money to begin with.
