Some may argue that you can buy the cheap stuff and replace it in a few years but i don't enjoy climbing ladders and having to work with rollers with tension on it. This Carefree awning fabric is very durable with a durable heavy coating to protect the awning from the UV and weather when the slideout's are retracted. I was able to replace all three slideout awnings over a two day period by myself. Two people are recommended but it can be done. I've very pleased with the material and how easy it was.

Bought and installed in 2020. At the time I noted that the topper was 2 pieces glued together, a narrow heavy top section glued to the thinner bottom section with about a 1/2" overlap. I assumed that Carefree would know their stuff and the seam would be solid. In spring 2022 the seam started to separate at the front edge. I tried to repair with glue and tape a couple of times over the summer but the seam refuses to hold. Am now replacing with a 1 piece topper from a different manufacturer. Extremely disappointed in the quality of this product.

Replaced 5 year old awning in which the stitched seams rotted and tore loose. This product is much thicker and all seams are welded. Install was ok by myself but really needs 2 people. Hope aforementioned attributes equal years of trouble free use...

This stuff worked amazing and I would recommend it to anyone who needs to replace the awnings on their slide outs! It was so easy to work with and we did 2 Slide Out Awnings in 2 hours 😊 very impressed!

I was able to get a warehouse open box deal. The first topper I got was a destroyed used one. That never should have happened. The second one was in a per-opened box. The topper was pristine. I had about 18" to cut off the length. The cords fit the channels well and cutting the length was not a problem. Installing it was not a problem when following the topper manufacturer instructions to the letter.

With a little work i saved a lot of money! But the Extra Heavy-Duty FLXguard bonded to the vinyl fabric separated after 4 months. I!'ll have to bring in my slide if it looks like rain until I can get a replacement! The other 2 still look good but they are smaller!

Watch a UTube to see how to install. I squared up the end with a drywall T-square. It was off by 3/8", but it probably would have worked fine as it was. Take off the old, measure and cut the new, slide the new in. With two people and two ladders, the slide in process may take 5 minutes. With one old guy, it took 15 or 20 each slide. Pretty simple. One 200 inch roll did both of my slides on a 34'- 2002 Holiday Rambler Endeavour with 2 inches to spare. One 112" and one 85.5".
