This is a well made quality pad for under a rug or carpet. Very satisfied!

I love the feeling of this mat and my clients compliment it all the time. That said, I didn’t need the spill guard function and thought it would be squishier to put that side toward the floor. It left a big print on the floor that required some heavier duty cleaner/scrubbing to get it it out (the photo of the rag was using it to clean after already mopping). I imagine it could also stain the backside of the rug I’m going to put on that side. So be careful! The company should really have printing on it that doesn’t stain and smear off to other surfaces

This is the second time I have purchased an area rug mat like this. I love that it adds a comfy cushion underfoot. It also has a pet guard coating for those inevitable accidents. They are also very long-lasting. I would recommend this for anyone with area rugs.

We purchased two of these 8x10 carpet pads on different days. One was $194, the other was $224...same carpet pad! We realized we didn't need two and tried to ship the more expensive one back unwrapped and never opened. The shipment would have cost $137 through UPS and $115 through USPS. This business doesn't provide you with a QR code but makes you pay for all shipping costs. Amazon customer service tried to help but the business refused. The carpet pad is very soft and comfortable and more superior to the felt carpet pads we've had in the past. Just telling you that you must be sure you want one and make sure you order the correct size, otherwise, you are stuck with it.

Great rug pad. It does everything it's suppose to do. It's super nice and cushiony to walk on, it keeps my rug in place. I have a 19 month old daughter and she will literally lay down on the rug now and roll around on it whereas before I had the rug pad, she didn't really do that so I know even she likes it. I bought the 8x10 and it comes a bit wider than that which is fine because I will just go in and cut off the excess that's showing. I'd rather it be too large than too small (lol). I am super happy with this purchase because it literally feels like I'm walking on clouds. I wish I would have known about this product sooner. My daughter can fall down on the ground now (as toddlers tend to do) and I don't worry about her bumping her head on the floor because it's just so dang foamy feeling, I know her little noggin is safe. Overall, I'd recommend this rug pad to anyone who is looking for extra comfort, floor protection, & extra insulation from cold floors in the winter. Who cares that it's two pieces taped together...you can't notice that once your rug is on top.5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

It is wonderful! A half inch thick, feels so good!! I use an Indoor/Outdoor carpet in my kitchen, and those do not have any padding at all, not even a backing. I got a Carpenter 4 x 6 pad see how it works. My bigger kitchen rug is 5'7" x 4 so I did have to trim it down. Even with my regular semi-dull scissors and arthritic hands it was easy enough to cut through it, and the back of the pad has lettering that helped me to keep my snips straight. I like the thin plastic coating on the pad. which prevents spills from seeping down to the floor, and potentially ruining the pad. I didn't test it for efficacy but I am certain it will eventually come into play on its own. It also had an effect of keeping the rug in place as I walk back and forth, which was not really expecting. Now, if you want your rug to STAY in place if your 4 year old decides to skate across it, I suggest adding a good quantity of rug tape between the bottom of the pad and floor. I believe the Carpenter pad will probably keep the rug from slipping of of the pad itself, so the tape would be to stop the pad from sliding across your floor.

I am very pleased with this pad. It is essentially a much nicer grade carpet padding with a water resistant barrier than what you might find in a large home improvement store. As described, it is two pieces taped together down the middle. That is a non-issue for me as most padding must be pieced and taped at the 8x10 size. Carpet tape is incredibly strong. It came trifolded and then rolled. I saw no damage or ill effects from this shipping method. I am happy with how durable the pad feels. It does not shread or tear as I move it around like some I have touched. It also adds quite a bit of cushion to our rug, which is what I was looking for. Lastly, size wise, it is cut 2 or 3 inches shorter and skinnier than an 8x10 rug. This is what you need, as your rug padding should be slightly smaller than your actual rug. Unfortunately for me, my rug is a bit narrow, so I will still have to cut off a few inches, but as it cuts with sharp scissors, this will not be a problem. I am glad I made this purchase.

It does the job. I haven't spilled anything on it, but it provides good and necessary cushioning for an expensive rug. Given its thickness, make sure you get one that is adequate in size for the rug it is going to underlie, or there'll definitely be a mini "dropoff ridge" in the carpet. I recommend going larger and paring down, if necessary. If you're getting a large pad, it'll come shipped folded in half, so don't assume you got the wrong size delivered to you! That's what I did. I was on the verge of calling the manufacturer when I saw the big tag on the pad that said THIS ITEM MIGHT BE FOLDED. Large pads consist of pieces that are taped together, but this does not appear to be an issue. My carpet does not slide around. If you're buying an expensive rug, I think it's worth it to invest in a pricier pad, although I confess I am ignorant in the ways of carpet pads, and the price was a bit off-putting.
