Set of 10 square plastic spike mats that can be used indoor/outdoor to prevent your pets (or other animals) from getting on the furniture or in your flower beds. The plastic is uncomfortable but not truly painful or sharp enough to pierce skin. These can be cut to size, but should cover a 13 foot area. We often will sink these just below the edging of our flower beds, as our dogs like to think the edging is the perfect place to dig holes. If using these outside, may want to secure them with landscape staples. Not always a perfect solution but does offer a humane option to try to deter from certain areas. (Valued at $28.49 at time of review)

This cat deterrent mat is super easy to use and does a good job at keeping the little kitties away from breakables and plants! Doesn't hurt then just scares them. The spikes are dull but abundant and it's easy to install.

I have cats that all of a sudden wanted to get on the counters and stove. I figured I would give these a try. They are super spikey and can be connected for convenience. Very quickly the cats habits have changed and can no longer be found in the kitchen.

Cat Deterrent Mats have been a game-changer for our household! These spiky plastic grid mats are designed to keep cats out of areas where they shouldn't be, and they work like a charm. Our cat had a habit of peeing in our house plants, causing them to die. We cut these mats to size and placed them in our plant pots. Since then, our cat has completely avoided the plants, and they are thriving once again. We've also started using the mats on surfaces like counters to deter our cat from jumping up. He won't step on them, although he does occasionally tip-toe around the mats and seems to enjoy "chewing" on the spikes.Overall, we are thrilled with the effectiveness of these mats, especially for protecting our house plants. If you're dealing with a mischievous cat, Cat Deterrent Mats are a must-have!

I do think these mats could work. My kitten seems to care less while my senior had zero interest in stepping foot on one. Ultimately I have found, it comes down to the cats preference and determination. Also, there is no way to truly know whether your cat will be bothered until you try.The mats are large and lay flat. I have purchased a roll before and will not do that again. It didn’t stay flat and it was irritating to use. If you were using it outdoors with stakes it would not matter. But I need them indoors and I am trying to train the cats to stop jumping up on a more decorative table. The way these mats are made, you can hook them together to make your own larger surface area. They stay together well because of the teeth on both sides. One side is longer. The teeth are not sharp but pointy and SHOULD be uncomfortable to step on. I will also note here that this where my kitten has learned to try to step in between but isn’t always successful. In the end, I would recommend them. The mats are large and made well enough. It takes some training with any cat but you simply don’t know a cat’s preference until you try. So try because if they do work (like for my senior cat) it doesn’t require a squirt bottle or for me to be around to lift him off. The mats do the training for you.

Living out in the country surrounded by farms and fields, we get all kinds of wildlife, which is why we moved here, but some of that wildlife includes stray and feral cats that like to treat my flower beds as litter boxes. Not ideal. These deterrent mats should help keep them out and, more importantly, prevent the smell from building up around the house. The mats are easy to set up and seem effective so far. The plastic spikes aren’t sharp, but they’re just irritating enough to make cats think twice before stepping onto them. They also blend in well with the garden mulch, so they don’t stand out too much.I don't expect them to be 100% foolproof, but my mind is more at ease knowing my yard makes a less desirable toilet that the woods. If stray cats are turning your garden into a bathroom, these are a solid, low-maintenance fix.

These work very well. I would caution that they are really sharp though. If you have a cat or dog that likes to heave themselves on your couch, you probably want to use these upside down or get creative with some thin padding like a sheet so they don't jump on them with full body weight, as I could see it potentially causing an injury. Otherwise, these are definitely going to keep pets off furniture.
