Far higher quality than expected. Thick plastic, low-pooling design, and great throughput for a moderate quantity of water (~40-50GPM max). The wire reinforced hose was a nice touch, would definitely buy again.

I had read the reviews. It was very difficult to attach the extension hoses. Have to extend all the way at the ends before you try screw them together. Very frustrating but finally got it. Be patient!!

After one year of using this catch and drain product I am satisfied with how it works. For my application the location/orientation needs to be adjusted next spring.

I purchased several of these for a new construction home.Works great for a light rainfall but basin and pipe is too small to heavy a heavy rain.A few things to consider:The pipe is meant to be buried, under soil or mulch or rock. But keep in mind the basin must be elevated much more than the pipe for proper drainage. If you bury the pipe under the soil, the water will not quickly drain into the soil and you will end up with a soft spot and muddy mess.One the ones I installed, I had to cut my down spouts so the water would fall into the basin properly and where I installed on top of mulch, I had to make sure there was enough of a slight decline from the start of the basin pipe fitting to the end of the pipe. Mine drained onto my slopped drive way which is just perfect. But for the areas of yard, the pipe sits above the ground which means when the grass grows around it, I'll have to use a weed eater to trim around.Perhaps a high profile would have suited my needs better.I found also that attaching the pipe to the basin was not very easy to do.

Please note that directions are VERY limited. I was not able to attach the hose to the catch basin no matter how many times I tried turning it counterclockwise as per instructions. I brought it to my son and he attached the hose in under a minute!! Not sure if it was an issue related to strength or my technique.I really like the quality of this product. Unfortunately, we've only had 3 brief episodes of light rain since it arrived, but so far, the catch basin drained as described - NO standing water to attract mosquitos. I'm waiting to evaluate its performance during heavier rain before buying 2 more for my remaining gutters. I wish it came in brown to match my gutters, but that's a minor issue.
