Great price for a necessary accessory for road trips in an EV. This adapter is solid, has a good weight to it and fits perfectly with CCS EV chargers. It's one of those things you don't always need but you'll be glad you have!

This CCS1 to Tesla charging adapter is a major disappointment and a potential safety hazard. I strongly advise against buying it.First, the product arrived in a plain box with no protective packaging. Upon opening, I immediately noticed a chip on the body - clearly a sign of poor handling or low-quality materials. The overall build feels cheap and flimsy, far from the sturdy and reliable construction expected for a high-voltage charging device.Worse, there is no manual, no product specifications on the packaging, and no quality control markings. Most concerningly, the adapter itself has no branding at all. There’s a reserved space on the plug itself for product information, but it’s completely blank. The only included documentation is a small card claiming FCC compatibility, which is far from reassuring.Given that CCS1 operates at high voltage, I wouldn’t risk plugging this into my Tesla. A poorly packed, unbranded, and uncertified charging adapter should never be sold on Amazon. This product raises serious safety concerns, and I wouldn’t trust it with my car or my safety.

I tried this adapter with two different Teslas (2022 Y and 2023 Y) and two different charging stations (CCS1 and J1772). In all four combinations, it didn’t work. Both Teslas charged fine at super chargers and home charger, so charging ports were not broken.

UPDATEI tried to use the charger for the J1772 plug, and it didn't work at all. I got an error message from my Tesla app saying “not able to charge. Equipment not recognized”. Then I used the same power station with my regular Tesla adapter and it worked fine.I'm not sure why -- it worked on the CCS plug but not for J1772.I had to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 1 star.I don't own a Tesla, so I asked a Tesla owner to review this for me. It's an excellent product.Here's why...o This charger adapter allows me to charge my Tesla on either "J1772" or a "CSS1" plug.o The adapter that came with my Telsa (in 2020) only works with a J1772 plug.o This is significantly larger and heavier than the J1772 charger that I hado Easy to plug in and to remove from Tesla's charge port, and feels secure when connectedo Compatible with level 1, 2 and 3 charging stationso CSS is for level 3, up to 250kW, 400A DCo J1772 for level 1 and 2, up to 250kW and 400A DCIt is easy to install and use the product. Plugs into both Tesla and charging station easily.It charges faster than the OEM model that came with my Tesla.It functions perfect. It maximizes the charging speed of what ever charging station I'm using.It is a great deal; more product than you are paying for.Say goodbye to the OEM adapter that came with my Tesla. Say hello to this one.
