This is a great choice for either a replacement or backup Yaesu FT-60R rapid cradle charger. It even comes with a 12V plug for use in a vehicle or any other application that involves a 12V port, which is a nice touch! When placing the radio or battery onto the charger, the light turns red to indicate that it's charging. When it's finished, the light turns green, letting you know that it's fully charged and good to go. Very simple and straightforward operation and LED indicator light. This cradle charger works as advertised and as expected thus far, so 5 out of 5 stars as it stands now.

Our radio club has four VX150 radios and about 7 total batteries, but the original chargers were misplaced or discarded. I was happy to find the CD-47 charger here on Amazon. Of the 7 batteries, all but 2 charged perfectly. Of the 2 that wouldn't fully charge, it appeared they had a bad/reversed cell as they only got up to about 6.9V - the batteries are dated 2015 - and that the lack of charging is not a fault of the CD-47 charger. The light on the front of the CD-47 turns red when charging, and green when fully charged. When the batteries are slid into place they are held securely in the unit. I'm quite pleased that this charger helped bring new life to these older VX150 radios we had.

The desk charger arrived packaged well and included not just the AC wall outlet for the desk charger but also a DC cable to charge from a vehicle outlet, which was a nice bonus. The charger seems to be made acceptably well, but unfortunately that's where the good ends. Plugging the cable to the charger and then setting the HT (Yaesu FT-60r) onto the charger, I received an immediate indication of charge (light on charger illuminated) which then went immediately off. I thought that was odd, so I repositioned the HT onto the charger and....same. "OK" I thought, "Maybe the cable is just not great. Let's try to DC cable." So I grabbed a portable power station with a DC outlet and found the same issue. The posts in the back make contact with the charging points of the HT perfectly, but because of the angle of the base and the angle of the sled the HT sits on, contact with the posts is lost immediately. Putting a rubber band around the HT seemed to solve the issue, until I checked and noticed it was not charging again. So I grabbed my voltage meter and quickly discovered that the cables (both the AC and DC cables) cut in and out. The cables I have for this HT do not do that, and I haven't observed that in any of the other amateur radios I have. I'm not sure exactly why this is the case, but after confirming in multiple outlets and both cables exhibiting the same behavior I have to conclude there must be some design behind the behavior but it doesn't make sense to me. When I plug it in, I want it to charge. When I set the HT onto the desk charging cradle, I want it to charge, not have to have rubber bands placed around it and then only receive a few seconds of charge every 10-12 seconds.Overall, I can't recommend this desk charger. The design of the desk cradle is an issue but not a deal breaker. I could make that work. But the fact that the included cables only charge periodically makes it unusable as is.I did plug the cradle into one of my other cables and with the rubber bands the HT charges as expected, so I've given it two stars sense it is somewhat usable but there are other options which will work better and as expected without rubber bands.

Picked this up for my ol’ VX-150 since losing the original charging brick. Works perfect, even with the aftermarket upgraded battery I got for it.

Got this spare charger for my Yaesu FT-60R Armature Radio and works perfectly! The power specs of the power supply match identical to the original charger the radio came with. The cradle has an extra 3rd vertical pin that the FT-60R does not use, which is perfectly fine, since this unit is designed to charge additional units. (You can see from my last picture the original cradle versus this unit) The cradle comes with the same style LED mounted in the front to advise you charging status. Great buy!!

I've had my FT60 for close to 20 years. I'm on my 3rd battery I think. We hoped in the car the other day to go chase storms. I grabbed my trusty FT60. When we got out of town, I realized that that the battery was dead. This car charger is just what I needed. This set does seem to be kind of cheaply made. I still have the original wall charger and the original feels much more robust than this set. However, it all does work as it is supposed to. If you need a charger for your radio, I'm sure this set will work for you just fine.

I got this charger because it is convenient to have the option of charging my FT-60 radio while I am in the Field. Although I could charge it through my truck's cigarette lighter power outlet, I have several LiFeP04 12VDC battery boxes that have cigarette charging ports on them. I use those to power my larger radios and can now use them to charge my FT-60.What I Likeo Radio fits charger perfectly.o Charges to full SOC in roughly the same time as the OEM charger.o Can charge either from 120VAC or 12VDC (through a cigarette power outlet).Other Considerationso The diameters of the connecting wires seem a bit small and fragile to me. However, this doesn't affect the performance of the charger. Hopefully, they will last over time.Summary CommentsThis is a good backup or replacement to the charger that comes with the FT-60 radio. Its advantage over the OEM charger is it will charge the radio from a 12VDC cigarette power outlet.

That's a very nice charger for my FT 60. It seems very well-made and comes with both an AC and DC adapter, which makes it nice when I have extended times out in the field and would like to charge it in the car.If it's the radio well and has a nice heft to it, so the radio will not fall over in the charger. I think you'll be very happy with your purchase, and I expect many years of use out of this.
