First, it is a heavy piece of glass and will require an equal counterweight added to the front of the telescope (recommend a dovetail). Second, it requires a good deal of travel from prime focus to be able to shoot with the reducer. Mine has prime at approx 19,000 and reducer at approx 27,000 on the Celestron motorized focuser. It converts the 11" f/10 to nearly the same optics as an 8" EdgeHD (8' - 2032 / 11" with reducer - 1960), but with the f-stop reduced from f/10 to f/7, reducing the shutter time by 1/2. It comes in a padded box and has threaded metal lens covers to protect the glass surfaces. Well worth the cost if you plan to use it for lunar/sun photography of the entire sphere (has enough space around the sun to capture the corona during an eclipse).

Over priced but it’s super high quality. Question is, is it worth the cost for the slight gain.

Amazing. Expensive but what can you do. Has made it easier to get good photos instead of having to use f/10. Attaches easily to the Celestron off axis guider.

I was amazed by the increased field of view and the superb clarity of images that looked almost 3D when I first looked thru my Edge HD 11" scope using the Celestron .7 Edge HD reducer . Beautiful site and excellent increased field of view with much shorter exposures while imaging using this reducer . Very well made with added back focus for accessories .Well worth the money !Tony Boucher
