I wanted to drill pilot holes for hinges. Not sure how these were designed. The part that should be centering is not near tip, and part that is near tip is much smaller than head of screw, which lets.you start anywhere.As a further bad, they tend to fall apart. I ended up using cheaper ryobi bit that worked great, bit only one.size .

Not real happy about the quality, cheaply made! Tthe inserts get stuck frequently and have to take apart to release the insert and springs are just not strong enough. It’s a good idea but wouldn’t purchase this item again

The first set that arrived had one unit with a BENT drill bit--it wouldn't roll on a flat surface! (Most unusual because hardened steel usually breaks and doesn't deform like this.) Another unit had its drill bit get stuck in its own tip and break the tip. All of them had loose shavings from the final milling of the end piece that retracts along the axis. Further, the central portion of each unit (widest , the part that bears the size stamping) is made out of plastic. This might not be such a big deal except the silver paint put on the part readily comes off. Don't ever put tape on it--like when I labeled the above described defective parts for shipping them back--because it peels off this silver paint. All other components are metal. When the company sent me a new set, I kept the best of each unit with, and returned the rest. Shipping was free for the return, but the hassle of inspecting and testing the second kit and then returning the defectives cost me 1.5 hours of my life that I won't be getting back.

I wanted a reasonable set of bits and these fit the bill nicely. They are not the best quality but they seem to work just as well as some of the more expensive ones that I have used. You get all the sizes you need and the case to keep everything together. The case is nothing special but other sets at this price point didn't come with one at all so it's better than nothing. For a hobbyist woodworker like myself, these will work for a long time to come as long as they don't break. But I have no reason to believe they will.

Glad I got the 7 piece set- just used it for the 1st time for garage cabinets that broke unexpectedly. Needed the largest bit. Great set, should have ordered this years ago.
