About this item

  • Precision laser cut design accurately measures 0.5% and 0.75% chain wear
  • Three point chain wear tool design properly isolates pin wear from roller wear
  • Chain hook tool and chainring nut wrench add functional versatility and value
  • Chain wear tool approved by SRAM for use on EAGLE 12-speed chains

The Pedro's Chain Checker Plus II makes this task quick and easy offering a simple check of 0.5% and 0.75% chain wear. To ensure the maximum life from your chain and accuracy of measurement, the tool employs a three-point design which properly isolates pin wear from roller wear. Other two-point designs do not and can incorrectly indicate a worn chain, robbing the user of additional miles and money.

My bike was shifting gears when I back pedaled It was super annoying, I went through and checked all the adjustments. all that was left was the chain. After using this tool I found my chain was streched way too much. I use this tool once a month now on my two bikes to make sure the chain is still in good shape. I have seen people fall from broken chains I don't want to experience that myself. I got this one over the park tool because the price and the ability to check SRAM and shimano

Works with my SRAM 12-speed chain. I suspected massive wear due to chain skipping and visible wear on my 11-tooth and 13-tooth cogs. The tool confirmed that I need to replace the chain.

Simple determination whether your chain needs to be replaced before damage caused to cassette - Pedros does the job.Serves several purposes: messaging chain stretch and holds replacement chain together to connect links.Inexpensive but worth the money.

This is a very well made, laser cut and accurate chain checker. It is one of the very few of these type that stretches the chain when measuring to give a true reading.Recommended.

Cool product and simple to use. This tool agreed with the measurement of total chain length change of my used chain. I solvent cleaned my chain then measured the overall length increase.

The Pedros chain tool is critical for any serious bike rider. It's easy to use and helps you determine when a chain should be replaced.

Among similar tools, this was a better, more efficient design. The chain hook is great: easily holding the chain in place while I connected the SRAM powerlinks. The chainring nut wrench is perfectly sized. The chain checker accurately showed no wear on my new chain.Throw in a lifetime warranty and a competitive price compared to other tools that just do one of the above functions and it's no contest. The gold on black markings are a nice, elegant bonus.Great job, Pedro!Gear:Chain: SRAM PC 1110 (11 speed)Cranks: Shimano FC 2300 (supposedly "8" speed but works like a charm with my 11-speed chain and SRAM NX 1x11 rear derailleur)

Works fine. The sequence of the hooks is a little strange and not quite intuitive. The instructions are printed right on the side of the tool which is handy but I wonder if they’d rub off over time. Of course by then you’d be pretty adept at the use of this thin anyway. Note that the final hook/tab should not be able to insert in the chain at all if the chain is good. There are two tiny incremental notches on the tab to indicate, if they’ll fit into the chain, whether you’ve got 0.5% wear (time to replace) or 0.75% (gears probably damaged) respectively.

I've been using a Park CC2 chain checker, then later found out it's not accurate. Recently, I had to put a new chain on my fat bike when the Park tool showed 75% wear (Park's recommendation). I bought the Pedro's checker and tried it on my old chain. It showed that there is a lot of life left in the chain. It measures chain wear differently than the Park tool. The Park tool is used in a local bike shop, and because it registers more wear than the Pedro's, the bike shop gets to sell you a new chain earlier than is needed. On top of that, the Pedro's is a lot cheaper, $16 compared to $27 for the Park CC2. Park has a new tool which measures chains the same way as the Pedro's but is a lot more expensive. On top of all this, the Pedro's has chain hooks that help with removing or installing the quick link. It also has a tool for handling chain ring nuts. Overall an excellent tool.
