My first attempt, cane quality is terrible, the broken old cane I removed was wider and of better quality. Second buy more pegs, as others have said you do not get what's shown. Third buy a good caning book the instructions are NOT whats shown in the picture although adequate quite frankly lacking, especially when you need to tie off with a new piece of cane.Overall it will test your patience but is very enjoyable.

I liked everything about this product. The only thing I would include in the description of it , is that the product is not one width. I happened to need the widest came and I need more than was included. The rest isn’t used for the application I purchased it for. Although I need more product I am still very happy with the way it turned out so far.

The picture of the kit shows that it comes with 12 wooden pegs but it only actually provides 4 pegs. The cane is very low quality and no two strips are the same length with the shorter strips being up to half of the length of the longer strips. The instructions are fine but could be better when it comes to joining a new strip. I’m a very crafty person so trust me when I say you’re better off Skipping this and buying better quality cane

This was a great, inexpensive project for me. My parents had an old chair where the seat of it had been busted through and I thought, “why not learn to cane a chair?“ The kit was very straightforward and gave me everything I needed. It took a lot more time than I expected, but isn’t that always the case?

I found the cane split while I was weaving on many occasions. I couldn't rip it out and start over. Being a beginner caner, I am not sure if it was the quality of the cane or if I soaked it too long....or too short. I used it anyway. There was enough cane in the kit to do a chair seat. But I needed more pegs than the 4 that came in the kit. I used a few chopsticks, and golf tees. All in all, the kit was good.

This kit had some pega and the weaving material as described. There were not enough pegs, so I had to purchase another pack seperately.

My first time at caning a chair. It's not an easy job, but the Kit & book were helpful. The cane seemed to be sturdy and I got ample supply. Thank you. I would definitely recommend this kit to anyone.
