The 56" fits my 47" tall donkey perfectly. Good mid-sized weight, I like the belly band to keep her a little warmer and to help keep the blanket in place. I don't plan on using it much, only in super cold temps, but she seems happy with it on so far.

It is hard to find blankets that fit donkeys well. They are not shaped like ponies! But our older donkey was sick and needed help staying warm. We've gone through a small fortune trying to find a blanket that would fit her and not add to her woes. This did the trick! We are impressed by the thoughtful design of this blanket, and the many ways it can be adjusted. We were able to fit it well, and it stayed on without sliding or getting her hung up. Highly recommended -- we bought another one for the other donkey in case she ever needs one in the winter.

For a smaller elderly Llama, Dave. 42 inch little bit too short despite me measuring Mr. Dave for his winter Garment. Purchased 54 inch for another, larger elderly Llama, Buster. 54 inch a little bit too long, but too long is preferable to not quite long enough. Items are very adjustable and did not need additional blanket pins to custom fit. Reasonably water resistant and quick drying, Llamas were still warm and dry underneath the dampish blanket. The buckles stay fastened despite Llama pasture shenanigans.This garment is well-made and reasonably priced. Dave, Buster, and I all highly recommend this blanket.

We've numerous coats for our mini donkeys but this is the best we've found, very heavy, much heavier than our previous coats, while still being water repellent. definitely worth the extra 25 dollars over our old coats, will be buying more.

I received my new blanket yesterday and am extremely happy with it. Over the years I have never had a blanket fit either our horses or mules as well as this one. The chests are always huge and ill fitting. This leaves the blankets to slide back and constrict their chests and front legs.My 45" Hinny with his small donkey chest, was a hard one to fit. He is right on the border line of miniature and small pony. But the 54" Challenger fits him like a glove.His chest to butt measurement was 52". The adjustable neck with the extra dart is what tweaked the fit and in my mind all blankets should have this feature, as equines body types are different. The wide belly band instead of the surcingle cross over straps, makes a nice snug fit. Also holds the blanket in place better.The quality of the blanket looks to be very good.My little guy likes to lay down and rolls quite a bit. He wore it overnight and this morning yes it was covered in stuff but, was in exactly the same place I had put it. A stiff brush cleaned it.Photos are without blanket to show body type and with blanket on.
