I have to wonder why the company does not sell a 7 ft. model and an 8 ft. model. Lots of extra parts were purchased just to get the extension. Anyone need a brand new in the box chain for a seven-foot door? Just a waste of resources.

Me sorprendió la calidad de los materiales, me ahorre una buena lana comprándolo por aquí, su funcionamiento es silencioso, se puede manejar desde el celular, lo puse en un portón corredizo de madera con metal de casi 4 mts tenia temor de que se forzara el motor por lo pesado pero no, de echo en la aplicación del cel te informa si se esta forzando o no y hace un análisis de su funcionamiento.

Lo compré para poder instalar un motor Chamberlain C2405 en un portón abatible de 5 metros, ya que el motor solo trae 3 metros de riel y quedó funcionando perfecto.

...but this was a EASY, CHEAP fix. I bought a opener that was for a 7' door and I had an 8". The spring snapped and the garage door repair dude told me that he could install this fix for $125/door. I took a leap of faith and this was what I needed.

Turned the 7' garage opener from a previous place into an 8 footer to fit the new house in a matter of minutes. Includes everything you need and nothing you don't! Remove the chain/cable (but DON'T DISCARD THE END LINKS AND CLIPS), remove the old end tube, slip in the new one, swap the cable roller and bolt from the old tube, run the (supplied) entirely new chain and cable assembly (using the old end links) and voilà!

I called Chamberlain to ask about a replacement when my previous Lift Master/Chamberlain garage door opener failed after 20 years of service. They recommended this opener rather than a cheaper model that, on paper, should have worked. Chamberlain's customer service was excellent, by the way.This opener went up and worked like a champ first time with only one change to my existing mount points. I had to purchase a length extension because the length of the opener out of the box was too short, even though I was pretty careful to measure everything and compare to what the manufacturer's specs indicated were necessary. After I got the extension added to the opener, which was almost too easy, I moved my mounting point back about three inches from the previous location.I am very well satisfied with this product.

This is a complete kit and easy to install.This kit would almost always be used on a new install and I question why the mfg would not just send the longer rail and chain section with master link. Or offer the buyer to return the unused unopened short rail and chain/cable to mfg for credit. This is waste and expense to the costumer . Got on Amazon for half the price the mfg wanted.
