With patent-pending Double Lock Design, the included jaw guard attaches to either the right or left side. Secure it with screws (included) for an extra level of protection and remove them to move the guard to the opposite side. I had a concussion in the summer after a rabbit took out my bike's front tire, so I got this for playing softball.It was comfortable to wear all summer, tested up to ~90 degrees.Fortunately, didn't have to test it batting nor running into anyone.Wore it fielding as well. Did have one backwards roll while making an outfield catch, didn't notice a thing!

7/31/2024: Ordered size large (7-7 1/2) in gray and had shipped directly to my grandson for his birthday. It’s his first helmet so don’t know how this compares to other helmets; however, the only thing in the box was the helmet and did not come with the jaw guard and screws as described:“ With patent-pending Double Lock Design, the included jaw guard attaches to either the right or left side. I originally selected this because I thought my tiny would want to be a baseball player for Halloween. Turns out he’s not really a Halloween kinda kid but he does LOVE baseball.With 4 boys who play baseball in the house you can never have enough helmets. As a helmet owned by a kid this is a great item. We didn’t find it to be overly hot, and it fit well. The padding is thick and keeps the helmet snug against his noggin.Depending on the price point at the time of purchase I would have no fears buying this again

Sides fit good but top padding is so thick it doesn't fit all the way down on head, sets more on top of head.
