And how much you like one from another depends in part on your intended use. I don't know anything about rock climbing so can't say these would be good for that. But for certain aspects of boating, I can say they're great.The separate eye loop is great for splicing directly to it without the splice interfering with what you are clipping the rope to.The spring on the clip is really strong so what you're hitching to is not likely to become disconnected due to a loose or broken clip.It's not the screw/lock type so quick intentional release is easy. If you need an absolute lock, like for climbing for instance, these may not be the right choice.The lock vs. manual release is a use choice, not a knock on the quality. The steel, the spring and overall strong feel of these gave me confidence using them lashing things down on an inflatable boat.I also needed to lift the boat off the trailer with a block & tackle, I used these to make the connections and they were more than strong enough to hold the stress.Very well recommended
