It cost a lot more than the alternatives, but it works extraordinarily well. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to the Home Depot cheapie. This makes the job so much easier because the spray is more robust and consistent.

This unit seems well-constructed and should last a long time. The extra long spray wand and extra length hose let me spray further and, since I am tall, I don’t have to bend down to het the spray exactly where I want it. The 2 gallon capacity is just right for me, and has the added bonus of of raising the pump handle higher as well. The hose is larger diameter than my old sprayer, and when fully pumped it will deliver a lot of spray quickly if you want it. My only concern is that the plastic pump shaft seems a little flimsy; time will tell. This one cost a little more than others, but the extra features are well worth it to me.

This sprayer did jot work right from the first time I used it. Initaily, it would not hold pressure. I spoke to Jonathan Reynolds at Chapin, and he told me how to correct the problem. I did what he told me to do. Then, I filled the sprayer with water and the deer deterrent that I wanted to use to protect my daylilies and hostas. The sprayer worked for about 20 minutes. It was holding pressure, but it was spray for about 15 seconds and then the liquid would just dribble out. So, I called Mr. Reynolds agai, he told me to take all of the wand apart and make sure that it was cleaned out. I did that. I tested it with just water, and it worked, I tested it again, and then I finally put the chemical in it that I wanted to use. It worked for about 20 minutes, and then it started doing the same thing. Full of pressure, and it would spray really good for about 15 or 20 seconds and then dribble. Both times, I ended up spending a lot more time to accomplish what I wanted to get done by having to pour the product into a small hand sprayer. Finally, I gave up and decided to try to get my money back. Mr. Reynolds told me he could not give me a refund because I bought this unit through Amazon. So, I called Amazon. They agreed to give me back 30% of my purchase therefore I got a little over $16 back on a $55 or so purchase. I am not happy.

Todos los materiales de lo que esta hecho se miran muy resistentes de de muy buen calidad. Lo único malo de este pulverizador, es la fuga de presión por la válvula de seguridad, por lo que tienes que estar bombeando constante mente.

I use the sprayer multiple times every day in my small dairy and there are lots of things I like about it compared to my previous sprayer. I particularly like the 1/2" hose which is much less prone to freezing in cold weather. It's definitely sturdy and has a good pressure release button, which was another thing on my previous sprayer that was poorly designed.I only use the sprayer for a few seconds each time so a full tank lasts for a couple of weeks but I found that it would lose pressure as soon as the water level dropped below the end of the pump cylinder. As shown in the photos, I've modified the unit by gluing a piece of ABS pipe onto the end of the pump cylinder so the water level has to drop much further before it losses pressure. This works well. If you do this be aware that ABS cement doesn't work well. A 2-part epoxy is more effective.

The Chapin sprayer is about as good as most any one that I have used in the last decade. Unfortunately, the quality on most all of them has declined. These types of sprayers require routine maintenance; not just rinsing. How often you perform the maintenance depends entirely on how well it is working. It has to be disassembled, cleaned, lubricated and reassembled. And, as much as you might not want to hear it, the best time to learn how to take it apart and reassemble is when it is brand new with nothing in it.In my experience, the problems with most of these units can be divided into two categories; the pump/plunger assembly, and the valve. The rest of it is a bunch of connecting tubes and O-rings. If you have a leak at a fitting or junction, first try tightening, and then if it persists, take it apart and replace the O-ring. The pump and plunger has to be taken apart, cleaned, and lubricated with a heavy grease. The valve assembly will also need to be taken apart and cleaned; usually some gunk finds its way into the most critical areas. What I like best about the Chapin model is the quality and feel of the wand assembly; it is much better than most in this price range. But it is sensitive to foreign matter, and will clog easily. I am not so thrilled about the plunger assembly; it doesn't seem to have the volume necessary to get the unit up to pressure without a lot of pumping. To summarize, I stick with this one mainly because I know I can get it to work. A lot of the ones I have had in past years had to be tossed because the wand assembly broke and was not able to be serviced; at least this one can be taken apart and fixed.

Great Sprayer. I have 4 different hand pump sprayers(1,2 and 3 gallon), and 1 battery operated 1.25 gallon. I use the 1.25 gallon battery operated and 3 gallon hand pump to disperse insecticide around and in my property, and I use the 1 and 2 gallon hand pump sprayers to disperse herbicide outside around my yard to keep weeds and unwanted vegetation at bay. This is my favorite and most reliable hand pump sprayer. I will pump it about 30 times and it will keep a good stream/fan coming out the nozzle for quite awhile.Price to quality ratio is good. I've had this sprayer for 2 years and still no issues. I pulled it out the back of an old garage I use as a large shed to store my snow blower, lawn mower, pool stuff etc...etc...... It was hidden behind some old tire tubes. I noticed that it was about 1/2 full with liquid and knew I hadn't used it since last yr.(2014). I thought oh boy if there is still insecticide in there, the nozzle is probably clogged up, and it might not work. I opened up the container and I could instantly smell insecticide and when I moved the liquid around a bit a white cloud was in the bottom. I emptied the container of its contents and rinsed it out as best I could. I then filled it with about 2 gallons of water, pumped it full of air and squeezed the trigger. At first the water was coming out in tiny spurts as if the tank was empty and not full, which is a sign of the nozzle/tube being clogged. I kept pulling the trigger until finally a steady stream of water came out. I did this until the 2 gallons of water was emptied from the tank. I filled it with water and insecticide a few days a ago and sprayed around the baseboards in my house and closets and inside the window wells, and the entire basement. It didnt clog once
