The Data Stream works as intended, but the cables that come in the bundle are microphone cables, not DMX. We could argue the cross use of DMX and microphone cables, but there are differences and this is a DMX product and should come with DMX cables.

I love the flexibility of having a splitter, as well as the boost that it gives to the DMX signal after a fairly long run from FOH. It allows me to send a cable up to the truss, another to the front lights, and another to the uplights. Having 5pin as well as 3pin outputs is a nice touch as some of my devices have the 5Pin configuration and I hate having to use adapters.I've been using this unit for over five years with no issues at all, and recently purchased another for a second universe. My only complaint is that the channel LEDs so bright they're blinding. I had to run a piece of mixing board tape over them so I could see the inputs without the glare from the overbright LEDs! The LEDs are so bright they shine right through the tape!
