Much smaller than anticipated. Not heavy duty. Could not be used for what I needed.

I received the 2 sets of sewing awl. All pieces were accounted for, which included a pair of metal awl and 3 needles each that can be inserted into the awl. One of the needles with a round bottom doesn't fit. I tried both awls and need with that round bottom. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The awl itself is metal. It was light, so I twisted the bottom off and you can see it's pretty pretty hollow so it's lightweight. One of the needle sets is twisted, but I noticed in the picture that this is how it's suppose to be. I never used a twisted one, but I could give it a try.Overall, I really like these awl. You can switch out the needles and the plus side is you get a set of them! My only issue is that needle with the round bottom that doesn't fit. Neither of round bottom needles fit any of the awls.

I like this slightly larger than normal awl. It fits in my hand better than the small ones.
