The pope corer is the best design yet. The thin sharp cutting edges do a great job.

This set is pretty good, it works well on many peppers but not all. The natural variation in pepper shape means it can't work perfectly every time, but I do find it easier than using a knife. If you have steady hands and are comfortable with a knife though you may not see any benefit in using this. I have a hand tremor and find this worthwhile even though it isn't perfect every time.

This corer is easy to use - first step is to force the metal corer into the pepper, I give it a little back and forth twist, then remove. This will fore 90% of the pepper leaving just seed and other cleanup to get the pepper finalized for cooking. There is a smaller corner that comes with the set which can be used for larger jalapeños which will make a great tool for stuffing them. As other reviews mentioned, this would be great for coring a lot of peppers at once. I’d say one person could core, and the other could ensure all seeds and unwanted parts are out before final prep.

I eat a lot of peppers and thought this gadget could help me to quickly and easily remove the core and seeds. While it does have sharp edges and is easy to insert, hold and twist, I find it does not get all the seeds or membranes and can make a mess with removal, some falling to the bottom of the pepper. Perhaps that’s user error? It does seem to work better on smaller mini peppers and with jalapeños. That right there might make it worth it to you! Overall, it does keep the pepper seeds from getting everywhere, so I find it to be a good tool.

In my opinion, these two pepper corers fall into the product category of “unnecessary but could be useful to some people”. I think if a person used a lot of peppers at one time, or if they usually got smaller peppers, this might save enough time to justify the space it takes in a kitchen. Otherwise, probably not.The larger one is made for bell peppers (or perhaps for the stem part of large Anaheim-type peppers). The smaller, tubular-shaped corer is for jalapeño peps. I think they’re reasonably well-made (especially the larger one), they’ll last and stay sharp a long time (at least the larger metal one), and they’re small and won’t take up a lot of room in the kitchen.Drawbacks:—The metal one isn’t long enough to reach to the bottom of most of the bell peppers I use.—For the relatively small number of peppers I use, these don’t save enough time to justify keeping them. I can cut and clean peppers with a knife nearly as quickly as it takes to get out the pepper corers, use them, wash them, and put them away.

Chef'n QuickCore Pepper Plus Corer Set, 8 inchesUpdate : After 8 months and several more uses I just found this was slower than me using a knife. I think this tool is useful for things like stuffed peppers and it is fine to use, but for me it is not faster than a knife. It was well made and stayed sharp, washed up easily. But for me? Meh, just another kitchen gadget in the drawer that I do not need.

This tool can be used to core 4 bump and 3 bump peppers by sticking it into the top and twisting. It was very easy to use and hollow out peppers with seeds attached to the center stem. The ones with 4 bumps are slightly easier. Getting shells for stuffed peppers is easy using this tool. I did not try the jalapeño tool. I got this for making stuffed pepper shells that look even on the top. It also works well for making rice with breakfast sausage and egg in the pepper.
