It's got good stick, but is so thin and is for a very small mortar and pestle. I used both for one mortar and had to cut them up to get most of the bottom covered. The problem is that being so thin, the edges of this will wear through very quickly. However, these were some of the only that I could find. I should have just gone to home depot and gotten some rubber matting and used CA glue. Would have been the same cost and better. Come to think of it... I'm off to HD.

These adhesive pads worked perfectly to protect our mortar and countertop (both are stone). So I'm pretty happy.

I was so glad to see these on Amazon! Although they are for a mortar & Pestle, I have these pads on the bottom of two double-walled stainless steel mugs. On one of the mugs, the pad on the bottom ripped along the edge, from age and/or use, and needs to be replaced. These pads happen to be the same size that I need, and will be a wonderful replacement. Again, I am so glad to find these on Amazon, and did not even realize they were available anywhere!

I can't believe I paid $12 for two thin disks. I'm not saying I didn't know the price when I bought them, but when I took them out of the package I was kind of surprised at how thin they are. Almost flimsy. I was thinking they would be more padded.THAT SAID: the one I used applied easily, adhered really well, fit the diameter of the mortar perfectly (Jamie Oliver 6" mortar) and looks like it's going to do the trick in terms of protecting my counter from scratches. I got it wet while seasoning my new mortar, and that doesn't seem to have affected the adhesive bond at all. Time will tell whether it stays in place, but it looks good for now.
