Good for chicken feeder but not ducks!

I love the fact that the feeder rings have the ability to close but they come off way to easily so I rated them a 4. Other than that it’s a great idea I just wish my girls couldn’t remove them so easy.

If you’re not using this, you’re getting ripped off for feeders. Fill 55 gal drums with these on the bottom and you can feed hundreds of chickens.

The lids to close off the food slots come off very easy.

Very easy to set up, and my toddler loved helping! The kit comes with everything you need to modify a bucket. Pieces seem very durable and stout. I like that it was so easy to set up - just drill the hole and screw in the piece! The instructions didn’t seem all that great, but it’s honestly pretty easy if you just have a little bit of common sense! I was able to fit three of the spouts into a five gallon bucket.

Chicken Feeder Ports - Poultry No Waste Port Kit with Stopper 8 Ports 1 Hole Saw - DIY Automatic Reusable Coop Feeders Rain Proof Gravity Feeding Geese Duck Hens Rooster for Bucket Barrel Bin (Orange) We have a friend that has a small flock of chickens and he is always telling us about the waste from feeding. So, when I saw this decided we would assist in trying something new. Awesome feeders that came with hole saw making installation a breeze! Went to store & picked up a food grade 5 gallon bucket with a lid, and took just a matter of minutes to have this all put together and ready for use. He said this is the best item he has ever used for feeding chickens.

These Chicken Feeder Ports are a great product and listed at a decent price point. While you are getting 8 feeder ports with closable doors, you are also getting a good quality tool for cutting out the holes where you will mount the feeder ports. At least one of the other feeder port products I have purchased and/or reviewed, the cutting tool broke on the first hole. I drilled out all 8 holes for these feeder ports and the drill was ready for more!I've found that these Chicken Feeder Ports work best on a flat, upright surface rather than a rounded surface like a bucket side or 30 or 55 gallon barrel. I am using primarily a couple of repurposed water softener enclosures which are flat on each side. With these Chicken Feeder Ports, I was able to outfit two of the water softener containers with four feeder ports per enclosure. The instructions mentioned suggested heights, but I've found with past experience that what works best for my chickens, is to offset each port a couple of inches. I locate at least two ports up higher for my bigger chickens, full grown hens, and a couple of ports lower for the smaller chickens. They all seem to have their favorite feeder port they stick with for the most part.As per the no waste aspect, I've never found a feeder port where there is not a little bit of waste. It's just the nature of chickens to have them pull some feed out of the container where it will stay on the ground until they clean it up. But there is no leakage from these ports when not being used. The feeder port doors are a nice touch as well. A couple of the ports that I received, the doors were detached from the feeder port body, but easily reassembled and I think for some, they will find these Chicken Feeder Ports and the doors, a very useful feature. Even if you choose to not use the doors, there is no feed waste as the chickens have to poke their head inside the prt to get at the feed which doesn't spill out.Overall, if you love to take care of your chickens as much as my family does, you will find these Chicken Feeder Ports to be a very useful item to have in the hen house! Highly recommend!!Five stars

I have a number of different brands and styles of feed ports and these are some of the best I've found so far! I love that the lid is attached - that's huge right there! They won't get lost or be in the supply room across the farm when you realize you need it. The second thing is that since the lid is hinged across the bottom of the port opening, it creates a lip which helps a great deal in preventing waste. I have birds that will use their chins to shovel feed out of the ports and throw it all over the ground. Something as simple as this lip across the bottom helps prevent most of the feed from being pulled out.The only thing I can even consider as a negative with these ports is that the ring that secures the port to the bucket screws on from the inside. This isn't a problem in most cases, but I have found new ways to use these ports and some of the containers I use for feed are narrow, making it hard to screw the ring on from the inside. Even so, I still gave this product 5 stars! So for those with caged chickens like Seramas and exhibition poultry kept in conditioning cages... I simply cut a hole in the cage wire OR cut a section out and replace it with a plastic panel cut from an old plastic storage bin and drill the hole in that. Then I find the right piece of garbage to upcycle as a feeder - old milk jugs are great! I use the hole saw and cut the hole in my milk jug feeder. Match the feeder hole to the cage hole, insert the feed port and screw the ring on from inside the feeder. The feed port will hold the feeder on the cage! - Make sure to mount your feed ports at the right height for your breed. For my tiny adult Seramas, I put the bottom of the feed port opening 6" above the floor. - If you use a milk jug, hang it upside down and cut a feed access port into what is supposed to be the bottom of the jug. This way you have an easy way to empty the feed out once the bottom fills with feed dust or if you need to switch feed.
