This serving tray comes with three components: the part where you put the ice, the tray that holds the food and the lid. The lid and ice tray are interchangeable. It’s typical plastic, so probably exactly what you would expect to receive. I like that it has a place for ice to keep whatever is being served cold. I also like that it has a lid to cover the food and keep it protected from bugs! Great for serving in the summertime.

I am writing this review for the product: Chilled Serving Trays for Parties - 13'' Ice Chilled Party Platter with Lid and 4 Compartments, Clear Fruit Trays for Serving for Party, Ideal Divided Serving Tray for Shrimp Cocktail, Appetizer, Etc.Pros: The base that holds the ice and the lid to cover the food are interchangeable, so no need to worry about which is which. This tray is made from a very sturdy hard plastic, and it is easy to reach all the crevices of the container to clean as well as air dry. The clear plastic used on this tray is not only aesthetic but practical! It allows guests to easily see the food inside and lets the host check to see if the ice needs to be replenished. I had this tray indoors, so I did not feel the ice melted fast. However, I would imagi When it came to clean up, it was easy to toss the ice basin in the sink and put the other two pieces with leftover fruit in the fridge to deal with later.Cons: The real cons I see to this tray for others who are deciding to buy is that there are no latches to keep the tray securely closed while traveling from your home to the party. Also, it is not dishwasher safe due to it being made out of plastic, so handwashing is recommended.If I was gonna use this tray again, I would use the large section for cut up melons or pineapple, the two medium sections for berries or grapes, and the small “dip” section for smaller fruit like blueberries. I felt this held the perfect amount of fruits (3-4 types with a dip) for a party of 10 guests. I would expect to have to replenish it throughout the party if you had closer to 15 people.

I've given 2 stars only because the description of the tray does say wrap in a plastic wrap to cover firmly. When I read this I was not thinking it meant to hold the top at all or keep air tight for freshness. At least they tried to give some insight into what this tray can and can't do.What can it do - hold veggies and dip. It will stack and the bottom does snug into the middle section some. The top fits over the middle section and an edge keeps it from sliding off side to side.What I didn't like1. The bottom does not seal to the middle. Great you can put ice in it but as that melts, if you move it around it leaks if tipped. Ideally this would replace having to bring a cooler to keep veggies fresh on a picnic but that would not be the case. Flat on a table it will be fine but you won't be transporting this in a car without it sloshing and leaking as the ice melts.2. The top has no latch and is not snug to stay attached. On a table fine but again not for transport.3. The plastic felt like a pane of glass instead of having a little flex which worried me about durability if dropped slightly or something reasonable fell on it. I let a soda can fall on it from 2" above and it cracked as you see in the picture.If you are looking for a tray that will be stationary on a table and keep veggies cool and not worried about transporting then this will be fine. I expected more for the price.

I really like the design and how you can cover up the food and keep cool. They came in handy for holidays when I was hosting parties. I wish the trays came in bigger sizes but other than that, they work great.
