My old umbrella base rusted out so this offer was very timely! It is available in different weights and I chose the 42-pound because the umbrella is tiltable. And tilting it for maximum shade might put the weight of the umbrella outside the center of gravity of the base (little physics lesson here!). It was quite easy for me and my wife to set up and the result is excellent! By the way, it will accommodate the three most used umbrella pole sizes. It is well-made, simple in design and I expect, given its construction and seemingly durable materials, I'll be using it for several seasons. Pricewise, well it's about 90 bucks and that's a lot but I suppose that amortizing that over, say five to ten years, makes it a worthwhile expenditure.

I am very happy with this patio umbrella holder. This sturdy base is a perfect fit for my large patio umbrella. We get storms and high winds quite often, sometimes unexpectedly- and this stand is heavy and secure enough to grip the umbrella even in windy conditions. A great upgrade for my unsightly rusty former stand that failed to secure our umbrella.

This base takes minimal work to assemble. It’s very heavy, durable, and dependable. There are also two screw-ins to hold your umbrella in place. Very nice.

This 42-pound round umbrella base features a simple yet pleasant looking and feels exceptionally solid. My initial impression was surprise—I did not expect it to be so heavy, considering it is partially made of resin. I chose this base, made from a resin concrete composite, because plastic bases filled with cement didn't seem sturdy enough to support our 11-foot wooden umbrella. The resin concrete composite is a hybrid material that combines resin-based polymers with concrete or mineral aggregates, enhancing strength, durability, and weather resistance. Umbrellas can be secured to this base with two plastic-head bolts. This umbrella base holds our 11-foot wooden umbrella, which weighs at least 35 pounds, surprisingly well. I own another brand-new metal umbrella base that weighs only two pounds less, but it was not as sturdy or stable when supporting the same umbrella. However, I would not recommend using this base as a standalone option for 9-foot or larger umbrellas. While sturdy and stable, I would not trust it to secure larger umbrellas in gusty winds. For added safety, it is best to pair it with a large garden table with a hole in the middle. It is still too soon to fully assess its long-term durability. If it does not continue to meet my expectations, I will update my review. For now, it works well, and comes highly recommended.

This C-Hopetree 42lb Patio Umbrella Base is extremely heavy and sturdy, making it a great option for securing my patio umbrella on a raised deck that can get quite breezy. While I haven’t been able to test it yet (it’s still winter here in the PNW), I’m hopeful that the two tightening knobs will help prevent the umbrella from spinning which is an issue I had with my previous base.I also appreciate its relatively small footprint. My table isn’t large, and my old base was a bit of an obstruction for people’s feet when seated. This one will tuck in nicely without taking up too much space. Overall, it feels well-made and high quality. I expect it to be durable, and I would recommend it.

We had an ornate, metal umbrella base for our patio table that as rusting and leaving stains on our deck boards and needed to go. This was perfect! It is plastic on the outside so nothing to rust, and it comes pre-filled so you don't have to haul a hose out, or fill with playground sand. Our umbrella is VERY tall and in the wind, it would end up making our table walk but I have no worries that it will happen with this one. It seems VERY durable and the finish matches our table nicely. The screws being at 2 heights is awesome as well because it keeps the umbrella from having any opportunity to wobble.

I have several large large patio umbrellas including two Cantilever Umbrellas which require a heavy duty stand. The C-Hopetree 42 lb Patio Umbrella Base is a great stand for any of my umbrellas (one of my stands made of cement fell apart after many years in winter weather).First, the stand is very heavy (listed as 42 lbs) -I need (I did not weigh it). Second, it is high quality (which is required for my use). Third, it is well made and easy to put together (excellent instructions). It has two screws to hold the umbrella (which all my other stands also have - but I have seen some stands with only one holding screw). Also I have seen some stands they must be filled with water or even sand (I am not interested in extra effort and possible leaks).I can recommend the C-Hopetree 42 lb Patio Umbrella Base as it is high quality and works.

This is a decent umbrella base but there are some things to note. The base, unlike three others I have, does not come with wheels for easy moving around. If you are placing this 42 pound base somewhere and never intend on needing to move it, this won't be an issue for you. Sometimes on our deck, we have wanted to move umbrellas around etc so I was a little surprised it didn't have wheels, but that is on me for not reading the listing better. With that said, it is easy to push/slide around on the flat surface of my deck for the most part. Second, there is no notch or small lip to get your hands underneathe of it to pick it up. So once we had it on the floor to put together, we could not tilt it easily to get underneathe of it to screw in the pole. Again, when you have wheels it is easy to tilt this heavy bases up to move them around. The only other thing I noticed is the pole where the umbrella slides into it several inches shorter than what I am accustomed too. I'm hopeful this isn't going to cause any type of top heavy issues with my large market umbrella in the wind. I did tighten the screws that hold the umbrella inside the pole VERY tightly to hopefully keep any mishaps from happening. Overall I like the looks of the stand as it replaced an old and very large cumbersome one. I like the flat footprint of this stand and really hope it does well this summer in bad weather and wind.
