Since most tree top stars have cords too short to plug into our outlet, we value those with batteries. This star replaces a broken antique capiz one, and although it has opaque plastic sections, it has the quality appearance of capiz. I was afraid the gold glitter would shed all over, but I am happy to report that the glitter is securely attached to the gold metal and does not shed. I am pleased with our purchase of this well-made star tree-topper and is the crowning decoration of our tree whether it’s lit or unlit.

It is easy to install on a stand for a tree topper, which I bought from Amazon. It is run by battery so there is not worry about connecting to a plug. Overall, I am very pleased with the purchase and expect to use it for several more years.

I received this star is a box that looked like it had been taped multiple times, AKA returned several times? The battery compartment is junk. It is very thin plastic that you have to try to slide open to add the batteries that aren't included. The battery cover broke. I put batteries in it and the star worked. The star itself it very pretty and is made ok. I could have kept it and electrical taped the batteries in but for the price, no! I returned the item for a refund.

This is our first tree topper that is battery operated. We loved the convenience, and not having to worry about attaching it to the string of lights. The bottom was large enough to easily fit over the top of our tree. Very pretty at night as well!
