Can't say this would be my first choice for a star, but it worked in a pinch. I cut the cord to the projector so we wouldn't have a disco ball running all night.

It only works with stars it doesn't come with other displays as shown in pictures. False advertising...😔

This is a pretty cool new concept, I've seen parts of it separately but never seen it all together in one tree topping star! Basically you have a spinning projector, like the ones you'd be used to seeing outdoors projected onto the side of a house, only smaller... tucked in between two sides of a golden light up star. You can change the filters to be 4 different holiday graphics at a time, from plain white snowflakes to colorful cartoony Christmas characters and objects. Unfortunately, this star was bigger than I had expected - in my opinion you'd need a really big tree - over 6' tall - for this not to seem too big. Then, you'd also want 1-2 feet of clearance from the ceiling for the projections to appear decent. And good luck balancing the cone to stay up straight (as is the case with many tree toppers.... except with the projector it's even more important!).The cord is long enough to reach the floor from a tall tree. I haven't tried plugging into the tail end of a classic string light, and I'm not sure if it would work (or if the light string would hold up to whatever amount of power this draws). So in summary, I'd recommend this if you want a very flashy tree topper on top of your large tree.
