It Began with a Crash
Once upon a Holiday Night, a Christmas tree fell and startled the Radko family household. With more than 1,000 vintage mouth-blown glass ornaments broken to bits, Christopher was distraught. Searching endlessly to replace them, he found nothing quite good enough to replace his treasured memories. He soon realized that the only option was to start from scratch. Thus began the creation of Christopher Radko Ornaments. With nothing but his Christmas memories to build upon, Christopher enlisted a Polish glassblower and went to work recreating his family’s lost heirlooms. The project went so well that by 1985 sixty unique designs were debuted and a respected business was created. Today, after thirty years of designing and creating, the Christopher Radko Company has produced more than eighteen million fine European glass ornaments that have become a part of family traditions across the United States.
How We Make Our Ornaments
Day 1
On the first day of production, the glassblower creates a solid ornament using clear tempered glass, which is preferred for its notable strength. There is a noticeable difference in the weight of a Radko ornament and the tempered glass makes it solid to the touch.
Day 2
On the second day, the ornament is silvered, giving it the famed luminescence that will brighten up your Christmas tree. This base enriches each hand-painted stroke so that even the most delicate details are seen.
Day 3 & 4
On the third day, a base coat of matte lacquer is hand applied to each ornament. On day four, a second application of lacquer coats the ornament and additional colors are added.
Day 5
On day five, the fine embellishments are added. From Santa’s rosy cheeks to the seeds on a strawberry, even the smallest detail is applied meticulously. This strenuous process ensures that each personalized touch creates charming variations in each ornament. Like the snowflakes on a peaceful winter day, no two ornaments are ever exactly alike
Day 6
On the sixth day, the ornament comes to life as the sparkle shows up in Santa’s eyes and the "icing" is spread onto the gingerbread house. Glitter highlights the contours of your ornament so that it can be admired from any part of your tree.
Day 7
On the seventh and final day, the ornaments are inspected to ensure the very highest standards of workmanship. Finally, the golden Radko charm and custom-designed R-A-D-K-O ornament crown is put in place. After being tagged and carefully packed for shipment, the ornaments travel to Christopher Radko’s offices and warehouses in the United States.

This was such a a.lovely little gem.Rocking horse, with hand painted scene, on both sides. It looked lovely on my tree this past Christmas. You can't go wrong buying Radko ornaments there all hand made fine quality and heirloom ornaments.

Christopher Radko ornaments are so special. There is so many details the colors are magnificent. The look amazing on a tree and the wreath is no exception- it is beautiful.

Great size and the colors are very vibrant. I love the Radko little gems. Always fun to look at the new designs for the year and pick out the ones I will give as Christmas presents. This will be a great addition to my daughters collection.

I was not aware Amazon had Radco ornaments. I have a smaller tree and the small ones are hard to find. the quality as great and the colors are vibrant.
