It works adequately enough, but it's messy and runny. I wish it was a little thicker. Word of advice, make sure you carefully and lightly apply it or else you will find drops of fake red blood everywhere such as on your costume or on your carpet. The fake blood that came with a cheap zipper face kit I got at Walmart worked much better and stayed on with out being messy like this product.

Read good reviews on this but did not care much for this one. Not sticky enough and the color looked almost brown like instead of a blood red.

This is awesome stuff. My daughter was a zombie for Halloween this year and she made some open wounds on her face and neck using Elmer's glue and some toilet paper (something she learned to do in an internet video). She was using red face paint for the center of the wounds, but I had planned ahead and picked this up. If you want to get a real "wow" factor from your wounds, this is what you want to use.I started adding this to the center of my daughter's zombie wounds and it looks awesome. It's darker than typical fake blood, and not runny. You can add it to the face and it stick and stays put. It looks a lot more real. After finishing her face makeup, then I poured this onto my hands and smeared them together, then slapped my hands onto her costume and then soft of drug my hands downward. It made bloody hand prints that looked freaky all over her outfit. She won first place for the scariest costume this year at their school's middle school Halloween party. Awesome stuff!

I used this for a "Bloody Hospital Patient" costume and was AMAZED at how good it is. Other members of my group had different types of fake blood and none of them even held a candle to mine. I had to take it away because people wanted to use mine instead! It's thick, like the consistency of chocolate syrup, and goes on kind of purple-ish but then turns a very distinct "blood red" as it sits. It was eerily lifelike. I don't do costume things too often, but if I ever need fake blood again, I would not buy any other brand but this one. 10/10.

It would be nicer with a brush.. It's extremely sticky and dries glossy. When you wear it for a longer period of time, it looks like it's drying, but it never looks like a scab (which is perfect for my case). Sorry for the low quality picture, It was taken in the evening...I put on a disposable glove and slept with this so I could go to school with it the next day; the blood stuck to the glove, so I had to reapply. Give it plenty of time to dry, or else it WILL get on everything.

This fake blood was pretty awesome. I was hoping for something thicker and this blood was the perfect.. maybe honey-like consistency. The 1oz container is quite small but if you're not using it for a huge area it'll definitely last you. I just used some around my mouth and on my chest for a vampire costume and I could use it about a zillion more times. My only complaint about this blood is that it did crust up around my mouth in about 2.5-3 hours. It looked nice and scabby like real blood but I wish it hadn't dried up as much. The blood I applied to my chest stayed fresh and wet.

I used A LOT of this on my 2pAmerica cosplay for Halloween and it was really convincing. People were turning their heads and getting freaked out! Some people even asked if it was REAL! If you get it thick enough, it's a nice dark color. One tip of advice though - DO NOT walk out in rain with it, the blood will bleed/run all over and it got all over my pants (which I had not intended on bloodying up, so I hope that washes out. :cBut yeah, wonderful for bloody costumes and whatnot.EDIT 11.4.2013 = So I washed my jeans a few days after Halloween and the blood MOSTLY washes out. What I mean by MOSTLY is that there was A faint pink spot where the blood heavily was on my pants...but I'm glad that is was generally washable.

I bought this for a Halloween project a while back, and decided that gel was better than the cheap dollar store stuff. It's awesome! Apply with a q-tip, and it stays pretty well. There's minimum sliding (I applied it to my leg) if you don't lay it on too thick. I will warn you though, the top layer never dries completely! Try to apply it to areas that won't be coming into contact with couches, chairs, or anything else you don't want to leave "bloody". If you have a thin enough layer it WILL dry; I had mine on a few layers thick so I had to be careful about placement due to it being on my legs. Over all though, this was a fantastic purchase. I've used it for full zombie makeup twice and still have almost a full bottle as a little goes a long way!
