I guess I should have read the description more carefully. I looked at many sets of dessert plates to go with my red teapot and tea cups. All the others were a set of four, for the same price or less. I wrongly assumed this was also a set of four dessert plates for $25. The quality of this plate does not warrant that price for one small plate. The back of the plate has a small spot with a hole, and no red glaze, and the plate came complete with a very sticky finger or thumb print, as if some one touched it with honey on their hand and then returned it. This is apparently not only a factory second, but has been rejected and returned by another customer.

The salad/desert plates are beautiful and good quality. I ordered one to decide if I wanted more. I ordered a total of 4. I purchased 3 other style plates before deciding on City to Cottage due to the quality.
