Works so well I think someone is playing tricks on my mind and charging it with a power outlet to make me think the sun is charging it! Built in battery is perfect for night time energy storage and charging.

This charges faster than expected and holds it for a long while. I love that you can also charge it by cord as well as the sun. It seems very rugged and durable. A must have for any bug out bag

Did a 62 miles/6 day hike and used this to keep my phone charged. Wore on the back of my backpack during the day and worked great to keep my phone charged the entire trip. Make sure it's fully charged before heading out. Solar charging is slow and can be troublesome on those cloudy days.

After about 3 hours charging (which isn't even to capacity), the sun decided to say goodbye, so I tested it by charging two things at once. After about 20-25 minutes, an iPod had gained about 14% and a speaker had gained about 20%. The battery indicator on the power bank didn't take a hit. The capacity and charging speed are admirable. The pack itself is sleek and compact, features a flashlight (which thankfully has a hold on/off feature to stop mispowering), and has a very handy hanging strap. This would be absolutely great for modern camping to keep your cell phone/gps/robot dog charged, or even something to keep at home for power outages!

Overall: This is a standard 20,000 mAh capacity backup battery. After 6 hours in the (winter sun), it was still at 1/4 lights on the charge. So, in a pinch, it may be nice to have the solar available if you're camping and need just a little extra charge; but by no means expect it to re-charge full capacity using solar very quickly. That being said, I'll try my solar re-charge test again this summer when the sun's a little stronger.Pros: External light makes this a little extra functional as an emergency power bank (power outages).Cons: Button for light is a little tough to press / Solar is a great add-on, but don't expect it to fully re-charge the battery.

As the owner of several power banks, the first thing that struck me with this one was how much it weighs. It's quite beefy! But then, I've never had a power bank with its own solar power generator! That certainly adds to its weight and girth. This power bank is an ingenious idea and will be a comfort for those who venture far from civilization, but still want to stay connected, even when they're off the grid. For the rest of us, I just feel a little greener knowing that I can hang this up in a window and use natural solar energy to charge the bank--and, in turn, my battery-powered devices. It probably won't result in a power plant being shut down, but we have to start somewhere! It also comes with a small flashlight, which could come in handy, especially because, if you're phone is dead, that means you're probably without a flashlight, right?I'll admit I haven't had a chance to solar-charge it from 0 to 100% yet, but I'll be really curious to see how quickly it can charge when all you have to recharge the bank is sunshine coming in a window. When I'm able to do so (and it may be a while, since this has been a very cloudy winter so far) I'll report back.

I recently used this on an overnight hike and it did great charging two iPhones! I wanted to test out its functionality, so I drained the battery overnight, then hooked it to the back of my backpack with a carabiner so it could solar charge while we were hiking. It got a full charge after about 6 hours in the winter sun, and had enough juice to return two iPhones to full charge and have some left over.I will warn you - its heavy! Heavier than any other power bank I've ever had. But I like that it can be charged via cable and through the solar panel, and its obviously well-designed. The flashlight feature is also nice - its not terribly bright, but definitely something you'll be glad to have in a pinch! I think it'll be a great addition to my emergency bag.
