We have a small 6 months old puppy. When walking he seems to think that he needs to train for the Alaskan Iditarod. His harness wraps around his chest allowing him to pull like crazy! It also allowed him to sniff and pickup everything. We got this collar the improvement was dramatic. You may need to get an additional link if you think the collar is too small. Adjust the link count so that it fits snug and wrapped high around the dogs neck just below the ears. Be very very carful not to yank "a correction" too hard! This is totally different! Slight pull is all that is needed. Wow! what a difference, my shoulder is recovering. :-) The improved quick release version is better to enable removal without fatiguing the spring characteristic the last link.

Maybe you're like me and you bought this collar because you have a 15 lb reactive dog and you were thinking you'd like to do some balanced training.The only feature I liked about this was the quick release - made application and removal super easy.However, overall it was pretty worthless. The metal was tarnished and didn't provide a smooth glide when I was issuing corrections. It just doesn't hold a candle to the Herm Sprenger - unfortunately that collar was too large for our babe.I wouldn't spend money on this and, if it was a Prime Product, I'd be returning it.

The collar discolored my white cockapoo's fur to a grey/black. I wanted to use the collar but didn't want her fur always looking dirty. The prongs also got tangled up in her fur. I really wanted this to work.The one feature I really liked was the quick release!

I am a professional dog trainer and use prong collars on all of my clients dogs. It's super important to me that the prong collars used are of high quality and are safe and effective. These are perfect for our smaller dogs. The points are well rounded and the quick release clip makes it very user friendly to use once it has been properly sized to fit the dog. One thing I will mention, it says this collar will fit up to a 9 inch neck, but it actually fits up to a 13 inch neck.
