These worked great - and looked very nice on the steps. BEST thing is that they were shipped flat so there was no fighting for days to try and shape them. I did attach with upholstery nails to keep them in place (pre drilled holes) and so that I can easily remove to clean underneath and then replace again. Only thing is would have liked them to fit a little deeper and wider to fit the whole step…but it covers the majority. Great investment thus far!

Very disappointed in receipt of these items. I could have sworn b4 placing the order that the vinyl's would cover at least 10-12 stairs. The pricing is entirely too high for only 2 items. I have 15 steps which would cost an arm and a leg to buy for all of those stairs. I really expected MORE for my money.

Common entry steps were getting really dirty from the outside dirt, rain, etc. Bought two of these to test them out as they are VERY expensive given they are just clear plastic (vs. say an electronic product at 1/3 of the cost with parts, wires, circuits and packaging, etc.). Was pleased at how easily they "attached" to the bottom steps, but noticed after a couple of days they shifted and slid a lot. I think a full plastic runner would be much more economical and effective. Decided to not proceed given the cost ( it would have been at least $300 more dollars for the remaining stairs vs. a $60 for an end-to-end plastic runner.

I'm very pleased. I purchased the same product over 20 years ago. Today, the product is thinner and not quite as wide - 24 x 10 versus 25.25 x 11.75; however, they work equally well. I feel no need to tack down the sides and presume that is mostly a liability feature. They are expensive considering its plastic, but as someone else already said - they are the only game in town. Nevertheless, they work great and I highly recommend for carpeted stairs you want to protect from foot traffic.

Must be tacked down for safety. Even high end carpets get dirty quickly and wear excessively without this protection. Fitted carpets are very expensive to replace.

This product and description was misleading. I the big box was 2 strips of plastic and it cost me 41 pounds. I could not cover my staircase.

I bought a medium grade carpet for my stairs - so not intensely think - and thought these would be perfect to protect them as they lead to the level with the doggie door. Yes, the price is ridiculous for a piece of vinyl with a curved edge. I paid $29.99 for two and bought 7 sets for all fourteen stairs. They DO NOT stay in place and become a trip hazard. I shopped around for the perfect flat head tacks to tack them down as recommended, but that doesn't work either - they not only look really ugly tacked and mashed down at the corners, but if you step on the tack, the remaining cushion of the carpet beneath allows it to poke into your foot - and the heavier you are, the harder the poke! Given that they only cover the mid section of the width of a stair step it is VERY easy to step on the edge and the head of a tack. I gave up and returned them all. Amazon is silly to offer this product but at least generous enough to take it back!.

It hardly covers the standard size stairs, doesn't stay well on carpetted stairs. Expensive and useless.

I was skeptical at first based on some of the reviews but love mine. I bought it 3 months ago and it’s great for keeping kids and dogs dirt off stairs. I literally pull it off to vacuum entire stair, as it doesn’t cover all of it, and put it right back on. It’s super easy and stays there until I pull it off again.It was a little pricey, which is why I waited a couple of months to make sure it would last and was durable. Super disappointed to find that it’s unavailable.
