Bought for our son, first year wrestler. Fit great, lasted all season. Had difficulty getting all the plastic wrap off, even the coaches commented on trying to get it all out.

Absolutely impossible to adjust, the snap is hard to undo, and the straps come wrapped in plastic that we couldn't get off completely as it's inside of the headgear as well! (See picture) Not worth it. At all.

As a first time wrestling parent, I struggled a bit with getting it adjusted, but with a little help from the coaches, it's been a great headgear purchase for our child's first season. Little fingers may need assistance with getting them snapped once on until they are broken in. Good quality, good value.

I was so happy that I was able to find this style of headgear for my 7-year-old. I never liked the "halo" style headgear with the sharp plastic edges. My son says that these headgear are very comfortable and I like that they thoroughly protect his ears when he wrestles.

BLUF: This is the best headgear for new 6-8U wrestlers (it’s tiny). I could have written this review before I bought this headgear. So here are the main points:1. All headgears with 4 vinyl straps require about an hour or two to dial in. They are designed to not loosen easily so they don’t loosen during a match.2. These are the best for new wrestlers because they have soft suede type inner lining. The plastic ones can pinch or pull the skin.3. These need to be pretty snug. They should be slightly uncomfortable in terms of tightness.4. Don’t let a match be the first time they wear a headgear. Have your kid wear the headgear as much as possible during practice so your kid gets used to it and prevent C Ear.5. This is the least bulky headgear you can get. That is worth the extra price.6. Like the straps, the chinstrap button should be tough to get on and off. It’s meant to stay secured. Mine actually is easier to unsnap than any other headgear, and that is a slight drawback. To unsnap, the easiest way is to get a finger through UNDERNEATH and pressure the finger upwards. Not the top down. The only DOWNSIDE to any headgear with cloth exterior is that it muffles sound. As an experienced coach, this doesn’t matter much to me anyway because 6U and novices won’t understand or hear most commands from the corner anyway. BUT, if you want to ensure your kid is a bit more comfortable with a headgear on, this one is #1 for the small kiddos.

These were a little bit difficult to tighten on my kids head when i first opened them, and it took a while to adjust the straps. But once i put in the time to get them to fit my kids head, they work great. And the straps keep this in place, I have never had to readjust them. The straps are like a plastic, so they make my kids head sweat. But, they do the job of protecting their ears and the price point was good for this product.
