I think don't think that I purchased the right device for my needs. My primary work was my large industrial stove in my home which does not automatically light and sometimes gets mistakenly bumped on. I tried to simulate a short scenario where this would happen but apparently I would have to leave my home airtight and have larger amounts of gas concentration coming in.I couldn't get it to register with direct contact with gas streaming out of an unlit stove eye. I'm not sure if it'd even work in this scenario. This, I can't truly rate this other than knowing that it is easy to use and all the functions were self explanatory. However, not sure if this is handy for residential leaks.

When you turn this on, in a female voice it very loudly announces what it is, which is rather unnecessary, followed by a self test of the flashing LEDs, the vibrator, and alarm which is fine. I found it to be reasonably sensitive, even getting it to register up to 0.9ppm on household sources. For the most part though, you won't be able to get this to reach the alarm threshold outside of an industrial setting typically.I like the case, metal with a latch. There is a calibration cert. which is nice for reference. The USB adapter and cable is appreciated. It also comes with an orange piece of plastic and provides no explanation in the manual for what it is. Upon examination though, it seems to fit over the sensor opening and it has a nipple that I suppose calibration gas can be fed into. Few would get a chance to use it. The buttons are somewhat hard to use, and needlessly small which seems like a foolish oversight on an industrial meter. The plastic cover over the flashing LEDs fell off almost immediately. I think I can superglue it back into place but it was still pretty annoying nonetheless.
