This button hole cutter is VERY sharp.I actually cut my finger the first time I pulled it out of the plastic sleeve, because I wasn't paying attention.I have used it many times, and it has stayed sharp, and cuts a very clean button hole.I do spray it with silicone spray, if I know I'm going to be storing it away for a long period of time.But other than that, it's small, and super sharp.

This is such a good little tool! I decided to try this after trying to open button holes with a seam ripper. This worked SO much better and the button holes look much neater. My buttons are 5/8 of an inch and this tool was not too big. It could probably open even smaller holes as well. I used this tool along with fray check. I have yet to wash my garment but it doesn’t look like the holes will be prone to fraying. Well worth the money to get this tool.

This works exactly like it says it will, I really hate to be without this when I am sewing. I have tried several other brands from different companies and this is the one that works the best. Nice and sharp.

I had never heard of this tool before, but as I’d just made throw pillows with button closures and saw how small the opening for the button holes were, I decided to try this instead of possibly cutting the treads by accident. It worked like a charm and although I don’t sew that often, I’m glad I now have this. No reason to mess up button holes anymore! Definitely worth the few dollars, small enough to easily add to my supplies. Nice tool to save time and avoid mistakes!

After 50 plus years of sewing, I bought this button hole cutter and some small self-healing mats to make the buttonhole slits on several dress projects to use some of my material stash. It made completing the buttonholes so easy, fast and neat. I don't know if they existed then, but if they did, I wish someone would have told me about it many years ago. Live and learn.

This tool works great for small button holes. A friend showed it to me and I have loved working with it. I make clothes for my grandchildren and it works so much nicer than scissors.

This is the most perfect tool made for cutting button holes...I used to use tiny scissors but this works so much better; it is more like a puncture action and it works superbly. Easier and better than scissors.This tool is not used like I thought...I thought it was a tool that you would use like a razor blade...that you would puncture the fabric with the point, and then pull towards you to cut. But it is not like that...the blade on this is sort of square shaped and you push it down onto the fabric between the threads of the button hole and push it to make the cut.One other point...this tool is extremely SHARP. I have this obnoxious, rambunctious puppy, but please be extremely careful about where you leave it. My puppy is very attracted to all of my sewing tools. She has grabbed pin cushions full of pins that I have had to pull out of her mouth, etc. She goes after anything that has a "handle" on it. If you have any small children, or an obnoxious puppy like mine, be very careful where you leave this tool. The blade on it is extremely sharp, which is why it is so effective in cutting your button holes. There is a vinyl slip cover that goes over it when not in use which I would be sure to keep on at all times when not using it. This is a really great little tool.
