The fit the bill for my project. Smooth bamboo that is t to slippery. I had to order another pair, because my puppy got one and chewed it in half.

Clover makes good knitting needles. They are smooth and light, easy to hold. Yarn slides off easily when you finish as stitch, but the needles are not so slick that stitches fall off. The points are just right, shaprp enought to easily pick up yarn, but not so sharp that they split the strands of yarn. I've used Clover needles for years and hightly recommend them. They are also not over-priced. However, the needle size on the needles can be difficult to read.

Smooth surface. Yarn doesn't slide arrive like on a metal needle.

Great size for beginning knitters. Smooth, but not too smooth for beginners. But not as rough as the cheaper costing sets. Highly recommended.

I am still on the beginner end of the spectrum, but have an array of needles, including the Clover interchangeable circular set.Bamboo is part of my knitting mojo; I can see that there are advantages of metal needles for some types of work, but I knit to relax and the clicking of metal needles is at odds with that. And although you can do "everything" with circulars that you can with straights, I generally prefer to at least cast on with straights, to keep the stitches even.I got these 9" straights to take my first steps towards simple lace, making a scarf. Again, the straights over circulars helps me keep my stitches even, and this is a narrow scarf anyway. And since I decided to work with silk (which is generally slippery on the needles), the bamboo is really helpful.A downside of bamboo is that my often-used needles end up with little dinks in them over time. It's not a very hard wood. They won't last forever, the way metal will. But I still prefer the bamboo and avoiding the click, click, click.
