I am not very familiar with this brand, but have been impressed with the amount of information and detail in this manual. Motorcycles have far fewer moving parts, but this is at least 1.5-2 times thicker than any car repair manual I own. This is great for anyone wanting to learn how to do their own motorcycle repair.

I love the book, very informational even if I don't understand all of it, using this in tandem with tutorial videos really helps keeping yourself certain and from asking yourself so many questions of the process for whatever repair or tune-up you're doing

This is how all service repair manuals should be published and illustrated. This Clymer manual will guide even the most mechanically novice person with page after page of detailed repair procedures, illustrations, text, colored wiring diagrams, maintenance intervals, troubleshooting charts, thorough index, part descriptions, and so much more! It is rare to see a repair manual as informative as this Clymer is. It even discloses some secrets and trade tricks to make tasks easier to perform and complete; therefore, keeping repair costs down. You can become an expert of your own Sportster with this book! It's worth it's weight in gold if you ride and wrench.

I rebuilt my 1996 sportster XL1200 from the frame up using this book. For the most part it is great. It includes excellent wiring diagrams that saved me. It also gives torque values for just about every bolt on the bike. Sometimes the diagrams can get messy/confusing as they include multiple years in drawing. Also, many of the pictures of the bikes are of different years, meaning what you're looking at in the book probably isn't what your bike actually looks like. I found it fairly easy to find the chapter I was looking for, as they organized the book pretty well and the page numbering system works for this kind of manual. It's paperback, but it seems fairly durable. Other than greasy fingerprints, there was no damage to the manual during the rebuild. Fluid amounts can be confusing. Even the amount of oil to put in took me a while to find.If you want to rebuild a bike with the least hassle, I suggest you do the following:1. Buy this book or another like it (I haven't tried other publishers as of yet).2. Know at least a little about what you're doing (i.e. read the book first).3. Use an online forum to supplement info and/or ask specific questions. (XL forum is good)4. Take pictures of every step and label fuel/oil/electric lines with tape as you go.5. Don't rush, and have all the equipment you need. Tools are expensive but last forever.
