Used this bit today to make some sticks for a stick chair. White oak. Seems to be good quality. Hopefully can be sharpened fairly easily. This is not a cheap bit. There was some burning, could be that my cordless drill is dying. I did need to file down my spade bits to make the fit tighter. Overall I’d say if you’re making stick chairs. give it a try.

Just like other China tools it looks like it was hand hewn with a axe. The blades were chipped and rough. All this said it worked far better than any the other pug maker I tried from Amazon. Wadda joke. The blades should not be chipped but chewed up the wood just fine…. But for how long. I think I can file them to true them up. It does drill a really large hole in the material but works. It is a beefy tool. I graded down for the chipped blades. Be aware that other fractional cutters from China are really metric sizes. This tool does cut a snug plug that will work for my purpose. Let’s see how many plugs I get out of it

Product cuts really well, but the tenon/plug is 1/64” small… useless for me

I have a number of plug cutters from other manufacturers, and this was clearly the best. It is very sharp and sliced through a hefty chunk of cherry wood with no difficulty. The plug was relatively clean and sized correctly. Worth the money.

Really like this plug cutter. The cheap plug cutters are worthless after only a few holes and most of those were burned too. This cutter as no such issue. After a couple 100 holes still cutting away as intended. Does create a massive amount of chips but the quality of the plug is great and true. Will buy the other offered sizes as needed.

I have several different sizes of these CMT cutters and they all work great. I use them for making pins when I do draw bored construction for slab tables

These are outstanding plug cutters! Cheaper plug cutters are fine for a few dozen plugs but for more you need this plug cutter. I've been plugging(100+) nail holes in some old growth heart-pine which is very hard and often sappy wood and this bit is cutting clean strait plugs every time using a drill press. I've also used it to cut a 100 or so plugs in some salvaged old-growth cypress which is much softer and again it cut good clean plugs without issue. If you need longer plugs(over 1/2"), then these plug cutters are your only real choice. I've gone through several cheaper plug cutters until I found these, now I don't have to keep buying new plug cutters.
