The wood was rough and cheap and the hopper was dented. We removed the hopper and attached it to a tiny crock and put it in a shelf. It looks really cute now! Would not recommend.

I had to tighten all the screws on the grinder because they were "all" loose. The bowl and shaft stabilizer at the top moved around so the grinding was uneven; when the screws were tightened the grinding was smoother because the grinding mechanism was not slopping around (moving from side to side). The handle on the drawer was also loose; had to tighten that too.

My husband has switched from tea to coffee in the morning, and he wanted a manual coffee bean grinder.I was hesitant about this one because some reviewers thought it was difficult to use, but my husband is very happy with it. He likes that it is ceramic and adjustable, and it's easy for him (age 72) to use. It's small, but it grinds enough beans for a pot of coffee without taking up much counter space, and theantique design looks good in our 19th century house.

Looks great on the counterIt works and is easy for me to adjust the grind from fine to coarse. It is very slow to use to bring your beans.

It does exactly what it's made to do!! It works great. It's easy to turn the handle and the coffee grinds perfectly. Small but mighty!

I'd first would like to state that if I were to buy a grinder this would not be my first option. Had I paid or had I the choice I would have gone with an electric grinder. That said I'd get on with the review. For what it does, it does well. It grinds the coffee beans really good.A funny story; my house actually did have a grinder before this one. It was the exact same type. However, it was never actually used. Even though the person who bought the first one thought we could use one it was never actually put it use. It just sat there for months collecting dust and spiders. So one day I got the idea to buy coffee beans. Just go the unused grinder could finally be put to use. Though it took a good amount of time for me to find one I found a nice light roast coffee to grind. When I brought the beans home I first had to clean out the old grinder of the dust webs and possible spider that could still be inside. But that is where I made a mistake. I didn't wait until it was completely dry to start grinding and ended up rendering the grinder useless. So I had offered to buy the replacement with my account as the person who bought it didn't have Prime and I would have liked the new grinder to arrive sooner than it would if she had ordered it from her account. She still paid for it.So the new one arrives and I grind a lot of coffee. The only issue would be that grinding the coffee would be quite a workout and would be quite difficult for some people to use. So basically this does what it is meant to very well. But doing so it a good out. Though I suppose in a way that might be a plus.
