I remember new car smell and even the smell of brand new blow up beach balls, new basket balls and even some brand new vinyl records, but what ever they applied to these cords is so strong it made my hands stink.After handing them I had to wash my hands twice to get the chemical stink to go away.When I did attempt to use them they felt stretchy to the point that they were only secure when fully extended and then had zero stretch.At best they might be ok for an application outside where they can off gas and that does not require much in the way of stretch but more full tension, or one that can make use of the their bongy stretchy quality.For now I've placed them in an air tight plastic bag and placed the bag in the garage until I can figure out how they might be used.Made in China as were the other smelly ones that I recently passed on at national auto supply store.
