Ordered (2) of these couplers and both malfunctioned. One won’t close when disconnected from tool, and the other’s internal spring that closes valve is stuck and won’t open or close.

I was hoping it would be more convenient to use this coupling than my old coupling (which is the kind where you slide the sleeve back while inserting/removing a tool). However, pushing a tool into this coupling while it's pressurized requires much more force than is required with my old coupling, so I ended up going back to using my old coupling.

I have been looking for these for a while as we have them on some of our trailers but they have very little markings on them. we use these on a manifold system along the underneath of the trailers and hook airlines to them to pressurize liquid tanks for unloading.they get mud and dirt on them making the regular style of couplings hard or impossible to get a hose inserted into them.these have no part to move to insert the hose so they work when covered in mud unlike the others. plus you can hook them up one handed

I bought a commodity air compressor a long time ago that had this wonderful push to insert connector, where you didn't have to slide the collar back to insert the male connector of the air hose, you simply shoved the hose in and the connector would couple. While this sounds like a lazy thing, I can assure you that if you ever have guests in your garage that are less than mechanically inclined, you'll find that the air hose is a MAJOR obstacle. If you have the style that requires you to hold the collar back in order to insert the male connector, you will witness every possible sequence permutation every time the hose is utilized. If the connector is cheap or worn and opens the check valve before the user engages the ball lock, the report of the check valve in conjunction with the pressure release makes for some very funny and frustrating experiences.I have enough visitors to my garage to allow me to notice these things I would normally take for granted. I would think that anyone who knows what a die grinder is would know how to hook up an air hose to it. Apparently, that's a flawed line of reason. These connectors have the most wonderful feature, where you simply push the connector together, and the connector automatically locks, no mess, no fuss, no pressure release, no finger acrobatics. Anyone can do it unsupervised, and no one has to feel like a idiot. This feature is available on other connectors too, but it's the main reason I chose this particular brand/model. When you release the connector, you pull back the collar. Once the male connector has been removed, the collar is held back, waiting to be reconnected. The introduction of a male connector releases the collar, so when you push the connectors together, they lock. It takes a slight bit of force to push these connectors together, but only marginally more than a non-automatic connector. Aside from the auto couple feature, the connector is well made, heavy and tight. It fit all the male connectors I've collected over the years without leaking. I've never used this brand of connector before, so I'm not sure how durable these will be, but at this point, after installing 3 of them, I would recommend them without question.

This is a good quality connector. The balls inside click and hold the connectors securely. I have not heard any air leaks yet.
