I love that this opens down the middle it is so handy. I was always afraid the lantern would fall and break with the one that goes up and down. It fits mine awesome and holds securely. There is even a spot for the mantles.

When purchasing a propane lantern, you want protection for the glass. This hard-shell carry case fulfills the purpose. My reason for 4 stars is that it is rather large. This is more the cause of the lantern version than I purchased than this case, but it is rather large. There is room for additionally mantels and a small box of matches. Great for car camping if you have the room! Since I pack with my boyfriend in a honda civic, there isn't much room!

Universal design accommodates different models of propane lanterns. Foam padding included holds the glass globe from jarring and rattling around. Well made and opens fully on both sides for safety when getting ready to store a hot burner assembly. Should have bought one long before breaking 2 glass globes and having to deal with the hassle of replacing them.

Finally found the perfect case for my lantern and base. This was our second attempt of buying a case. The first time, it only held the glass part not base. This holds both glass and base. Now we can throw away the beat up box out came in that we used to carry it in for the past 5 years, (you can only imagine what that looked like!)

Fair warning, this is my first Amazon customer review:Recently, I purchased a camper trailer and decided to dig into my hurricane preparedness stockpile for a propane lantern that I have never used. In fact, it is still in its original packaging and no longer manufactured by Coleman. The lantern packaging, I felt, was not suitable for the rough handling and travel to and from a camp site so I decide to search for a lantern carry case of some type. I called the Coleman company customer service and in short time was speaking to a customer service representative who confidently and quick order gave me a model and item number for me to look at on the Coleman website. I then searched the Amazon website for this item and found this product listed. I purchased this product on Tuesday and got it two days later.I must agree with the other reviews; this is a very good product. A little bigger than I expected but not an issue as far as can see. The lantern is enveloped very securely and solidly. I tested this carry case by hand shaking it and laying it on its side and upside down and at no point did it sound like it was moving within the carry case. I'm very happy with this purchase, so much so that I felt like writing this review.Note: my lantern 5152 model is (no longer manufactured) not listed in the Amazon description section so I recommend you call the Coleman customer service or visit the website to make sure this carry case is designed for your lantern.
