Every on who owns a trailer should have one of these installed. Works great. Have an electrician install, though.

I installed the Soft Start on a 2024 Coleman Model 45004-0792 that is also a heat pump. Overall, the installation was very straight-forward and the instruction manual was very helpful. There is, however, a critical instruction missing. The manual has you disconnecting and discarding the Start Capacitor & PTCR, together with their red and yellow wires. The problem is that there is also a black wire connected to the Start Capacitor. What the heck do you do with that? There is no mention of it in the instructions. The answer can be found on the yellow schematic on the A/C unit, if you are familiar with how to read a schematic diagram. The schematic shows a black wire from the reversing solenoid going to the yellow terminal block of the Run Capacitor. I'm happy to say that when connected this way, the unit operates correctly - much quieter starting while drawing many fewer amps.A great upgrade for my RV!

This was perfect. We have the Coleman mach air conditioner in our RV so this was a breeze. Watch a YouTube video on installation and presto in under an hour it was in. As easy as could be.

I ordered these for my father-in-law, he got 2x for his camper that has a 15,000BTU and a 13,500 BTU Coleman AC unit. We are camping on a site with only 30A hookup this summer and with these installed he has been able to run both units at the same time. (You still have to be careful, running the microwave or coffee pot with both units on will still trip the breaker!)I will update my review when I get final numbers from him, he tested max and avg running amps before the installation and will test again later when these things have run for a while. The self-described "continuous learning feature" claims to adapt to use over time, so he's going to test peak and avg amps after using it for a few weeks. So far though it's great, I plan to get one for my camper since I also have a Coleman AC. He said installation was insanely easy too, you will need to plan to get some spade terminals and a wire crimper but those are easy to install and the instructions make it very clear which connectors get switched based on your AC model. As long as you have good attention to detail this can be installed by a complete novice.

Incredible, no more hard starts or other things surging or turning on/off. Overall seems quieter. No more cringing every time a unit kicks on. Just smooth as can be. I ran two units on a Westinghouse igen4500 just to see what it can do and it never went over 80%. While it might be able to run just fine i wouldn't necessarily recommend doing that as a normal thing. There's many other factors to consider there. I highly recommend even if only to eliminate the hard start and potential other issues that come along with it to the system as a whole. Another plus is it claims it doesn't void any warranties. You honestly can't go wrong considering the fairly low price, the quality of materials and durability of the unit. On top of how easy it was to install, worth every penny!

Wow! Wow! Et encore wow! Installation n’a prise qu’environ 20 minutes mais quel changement pour le confort! Nous n’entendons plus l’air climatisé démarrer et rends ainsi les nuits que plus reposante! Un ajout à faire sans faute!

Broke and the manufacturer refuses to return any contact to get a replacement even with Warranty. We are EXTREMELY not happy with this product. At first it worked and then we got home from a hot day at work and this device had not only stopped working, it caused our air conditioner to stop working and our poor animals were stuck in the house with the air conditioner blowing hot air by the time we got home from work on the hottest day of the week. We have repeatedly tried contacting the company to get either a replacement or even a refund considering how expensive this was and NO ONE will respond. I'm hoping someone sees this from amazon and helps us out by getting ahold of the manufacturer. We have called and emailed them multiple times with no response. We live in our RV so we actually do need one that works properly.

Since it’s made by Coleman, it’s easy to install. The A/C now draws a lot less amps during startup reducing the impact especially when running on generator power. It also seems like the A/C runs on less amps overall. I ended up installing one on all 3 A/Cs.
