If you don't know anything about tips and using this tool,please read carefully as below:
you need to prepare a new tip and a bottle of glue before using it,you can use a cheap cue tip or old cue to practice to ensure success when you are the first time to do this ,Once you understand how to use it and how to change a tip this truly is a one-stop tool.
1,Tape off your ferrule with masking tape, this will help you avoid extra glue.
2,Be careful cutting the tip off ,Use blade on side of the tool or you can use another razor blade for extra control but don’t get to close to the ferrule.If the tip doesn't cleanly removed,please use the cue repairing kit blade to remove the residual.
3,Use the circle hole (diameter control loop) to shave off the remaining tip and glue on the ferrule.
4,Sand the new tip side that will be glued,ensure the tip surface to be flat.
5,Glue the tip on and be careful to make it even.Hold it down and wait for it to dry (it dries very fast but give it 15-20mins to be safe).
6,Start by trimming the top of the tip on an angle, it will make the final shaping way easier.
7,Carefully trim the sides to be flush with the ferrule. (you can use the main blade of the conical holes to remove extra diameter of the tip,just change the angle of the cue,parallel the taper hole and cue,clockwise rotate) Remove the tape to ensure flushness, then put back on to avoid unwanted debris.
8,Use the curved sand board to shape it to a nickel or dime. This will take a while but be patient.
9,Use the 2 kind of radians alignment to choose the radian what you need,If there is a gap that means the tip radians is not uniform,need further burnish.
10,Use the needle to scuff and poke the top and add some chalk to enjoy your game.

Been a pool player for 20+ years. I used to use a friends lathe to change tips. Moved away and have been doing it by hand ever since with different tools in my workroom. I figured I would give this a try since it is Prime. It totally works. If you change tips for a team, If you play a ton of pool and need new tips, If you don't trust the local pool guy to change your tip, I would totally recommend this.IMPORTANT: As with all tip replacement, Take your time and take it slow. You should be able to make a perfect tip without ruining your ferrule or stick. Just be patient and careful. It will come out perfect. This tool totally works.

As others have mentioned, watch the you tube vids whether or not you are familiar with cue tip replacement, helps a ton. But I love this thing, gave me the perfect tip on my backup cue and now gonna move on to the other. I have replaced tips without tools and have tried some other options, but this crushes. Only took about 20 mins on my first attempt, and will pay for itself on next one. Also appreciate knowing it is done right!Side note, I use loctite professional liquid super glue.And trying Dennis searing tips for the first time

I've played competitive billiards for 12+ years now and this is the first time i've attempted installing a tip on my own. Did 2 test installs with house cues and cheap tips which was not that great. The super-cheap tips I purchased to test on were so bad that I feared this product would not work at installing a quality tip.Decided to take the plunge on one of my shooting cue shafts with a Moori SS tip. It worked an absolute treat. The tip removal and "mini lathe" to flatten the ferrule are very easy to "get right" and start with a good flat surface.Going away from the standard CA superglue, I went with Insta-flex clear rubber by Bob Smith Ind. which will ensure flexibility of the glue to prevent tips popping off.Shaping was quite easy as well with a quality leather tip, it would spiral off nicely using the different angles and blades provided in this product. Getting the tip perfectly flat along the ferrule was the hardest part and took some time to ensure smoothness.I've now done all my playing cues, a break cue and have the equipment necessary that I don't have to seek out a pro-shop (which are getting harder to find near me, and charging upwards of $40-50 per install depending on the tip). This is a huge cost saver and i'm glad to be doing these myself!

I've used this gadget to replace one tip. The printed instructions that come with the product are very poorly written and not very helpful. Find the video and watch it. There's no sound with the video, but if you watch it carefully (I went through it several times in slo-mo and took notes) you'll get a good idea of how to use the device. One minor problem with the video is that is seems to show a model has a minor difference from the one you'll buy. I would also suggest that you read other reviews -- some of them provide good advice.Having said all that -- the product works as advertised, and with a little preparation is quite easy to use. The photo shows the result of my first attempt -- not perfect but pretty close. Took about 30 minutes not including glue cure time (I used Gorilla Gel as suggested in some reviews). I'm pleased with the product.

Though the glue was not included, this is an amazing tool. I tried on replacing a tip on my house-cue and I was surprised how easy it was.Be careful with sharper, wrong angle can mess up the shape of the tip.

The tool works very well, though the instructions are not good - A few youtube videos and I could figure out how to use it. Mine unfortunately didn't come with an extra blade, and finding replacements is difficult.

This solid all in one cue tip repair & maintenance tool is a must in your cue case (dont forget to put in your case few of your prefered spare tips & glue just in case ! ).Very good and well tought tool.

I had played pool in high school with my friends as a pastime. It seems like pool halls have been dropping like flies. Recently I found my old players cue (nothing super fancy but a nice cue none the less) at my parents house and decided to pick up this hobby again. The tip hadn’t been changed in 11 years, but it was okay knocking balls in. I decided to have the top changed but couldn’t find anywhere to do it. I researched every technique in changing tips but was still a bit hesitant about taking the project on myself. Then I found this gadget.First the cons:The instructions it came with are not that great. If you don’t know anything about tips then buying this and using it will NOT go well. I would watch YouTube videos showing how to do it on a lathe and by hand so you understand each step in the process. By understanding what each function on this does and understanding the steps to changing a tip you will ensure success.There are two videos demonstrating this product on youtube that are very helpful in understanding how this works.Now to the pros.Once you understand how to use it and how to change a tip this truly is a one stop tool. I was able to change the tip on my first try. I over trimmed it, and while it probably would have been fine I started over with a new tip the next day and was able to get fantastic results. Here are some helpful tips.1. Be careful cutting the tip off, you can use another razor blade for extra control but don’t get to close to the ferrule.2. Tape off your ferrule with masking tape, this will help you avoid extra glue.3. Start with cheaper tips. I used the cuesol soft layered tip. I wanted a Kamui tip but these appear to be a knock off version 1/6 the price. I bought a pack of 5 for 20$ and I would reckoned this before you splurge on an expensive one.4. Use gorilla glue gel, and you don’t need a ton, a small dot will do.The process:1. Tape the ferrule and cut the tip off2. Use the circle hole to shave off the remaining tip and glue on the ferrule.3. Sand the tip lightly to remove any residue and old glue.4. Sand the tip side that will be glued5. Glue the tip on and be careful to make it even.6. Hold it down and wait for it to dry (it dries very fast but give it 15-20mins to be safe)7. Start by trimming the top of the tip on an angle, it will make the final shaping way easier.8. Once you have a good start on the top, CAREFULLY trim the sides to be flush with the ferrule. Remove the tape to ensure flushness, then put back on to avoid unwanted debris.9. Use the curved sand board to shape it to a nickel or dime. This will take a while but be patient.10. I also used a bow tie tool to get it as round as I could.11. Burnish the side. I used some spit and then wrapped a dollar bill around the sides. I then rolled the cue briskly until it was shiny. This hardens the leather and protects against mushrooming.12. Scuff and poke the top and add some chalk.I then cleaned the shaft and ferrule and was ready to play.Very good tool and it made this whole thing a breeze.
