Handy for when needed.I have nerve damage in one of my feet and have balance issues when going up or down hill. I can do fine on level ground. I can carry this in a daypack, where it can be easily deployed when needed.The handle is comfortable and can be "choked up" on if needed.

This is a really awesome deal! I was not expecting the quality that I received for this price point. Lots of great things to say about this pole. Now I'm not a hardcore hiker, so excuse the amateur review... but these are my observations.First of all, the aluminum is both really strong and, just as importantly, really light. Assembling it might seem obvious, until you actually do it... and then a headscratch or two later, break out the manual and look. It's really easy once you know the trick. So roll your eyes and repeat with me: read the manual. Comes with a few other tips. Also, the length of the segments are nice and short and so this packs nice and compact. Feels sturdy. Feels good in the hand, great adjustable height (and easy to adjust and lock in place). It even comes with an elastic band replacement. Nice touch!I hope you liked my review. This is a decent inexpensive option for a hiking pole that folds up shorter than other poles that simply slide into themselves and compact. The price reflects the materials, everything feels a bit lighter and thinner. Like another reviewer mentioned, it folds open like a tent pole and when it unfolds the pieces flop around connected by the steel cables inside. It locks into place ssafley and feels sturdy and balanced while hiking uphill. There's good value here for the price point.

This hiking pole is incredibly light and folds into a small size that I can easily fit into my luggage. Love this for our weekend hikes and will taking this with me on vacation.

This is a nice trek pole. I have a bad knee so when I go hiking I bring this along to help. The pole is solid (not much flexing) and folds when not in use. Very nice

Our property has uneven ground with dips and small slopes ect and this is good for helping to keep your balance when walking on uneven ground.Make sure to carefully look at all the steps in the video on the product page because I saw one of the necessary steps I was not able to get it to stay together, but once I did all the steps it worked great.Both lightweight and foldable, a simple item bit one that can really help when needed.

All of the trekking poles that I've tried are ones that telescope open, so I wasn't sure if I'd dig this type of collapsible pole. It doesn't get any smaller or more compact than the telescoping ones. It does have the advantage of being ready to use faster because I don't have to adjust the height.The way this one works, you adjust the height on the highest part of the pole, then lock it. Below that are the parts that lock in one spot. Once you press a little ball to release the tension, the other pieces release and you can easily gather and put in the carrying case. Then, when you need to use it again, just pull until the ball locks and no further adjustments needed. Score!I discovered it absorbs shock better than the others I have and the aluminum is light and sturdy, which I appreciate.I use this for fitness walking, light hiking, and when traveling.Recommended!
