Your cart is empty.Originally part of Mayan women's traditional dress and typically worn as hair ribbons, this long narrow tapestry is filled with color and complex designs of Guatemalan weaving. This cinta is from the town of Zunil. Women wear this style of cinta in their hair as part of their outfit. This cinta is finely hand woven with Mayan figures that represent the colorful daily life along with diamonds and zigzags representing the mountains and rivers of Guatemala running the full length of the cinta. This hair ribbon is a weft-faced weaving's woven on narrow floor looms.

This Mayan, woven belt is quite pretty, bright, and arrived in TWO DAYS!? Wow! It is exactly as pictured. The one I received is 48" long at the tie ends (NOT including the tassels). I intend to wear this as a belt with a pair of low rise jeans. My measurements where the waistband hits on me is 32"; this is just long enough to tie and have about a 6" drop on both ends.

When you order something online you have the picture in your mind. However, you need really know what it feels like, looks like, not to mention quality. Therefore, it was a great, positive surprise to get the belt quick, but beyond any expectations I might have had. The color was true to the picture online. The size was correct. And I realized I had chosen the right place to order the belt. Then, I saw something totally unexpected - a tiny, little handmade doll that looked like she could speak. This may be a small item but it felt like a gift from the maker, and it was greatly appreciated by me. Thank you for promises kept!

I had a Guatemalan belt in the 90s and had been looking for one just like it. Thanks for fulfilling my nostalgia! The sweet little worry doll was a nice surprise!
