It works well for the support I needed. It was recommended by my physical therapist.

This was a great brace until the stitching started coming undone. I should not pay this much money for something that didn't last two weeks, before it started falling apart. I would have sent back, but I was out of the country, so now I am outside of the return window.

I guess I'm hard on these because I've been through several. They give good support for awhile but tend to fray and come apart. And sometimes the velcro doesn't want to stick anymore. That being said it gives better more comfortable support than others I've purchased (too many to count as I have arthritis in both thumbs). So although I wish the price was a little lower I'm about to order 2 more.if they held up longer/better, I would give 5 stars

I ordered a large splint for my hand since my medium splint was sightly too small so I thought to try a bigger size. I was sent a large plus size splint which is useless to support my hand and wanted to exchange it for the right size that I ordered. It seems that this is not possible. I will have to report this to trading standards since the purchasing contract has been broken and not addressed to fix the problem. It is important since the splint does not function as required and was expensive.

Glad I got it but shouldn't be so expensive. The material and labor to make is not justifiable.UPDATED review after wearing daily for 3 week. The strap that adheres to the velcro is hardly sticking any longer and not holding the strap into place. Very disappointing after such a short time owning this device. I think the main issue is the velcro area is so small. I keep this clean so I don't believe that is the issue. I am hoping the company will send a replacement at no charge to me.

I love that I can wear this and the pain immediately stops. The only thing it limits me in doing is washing my hands, so I don't recommend cooking with these on. I can throw them in the washer if they get a little smelly, and life is good. They helped so much. The only thing that doesn't really stand true is the cooling part. But, if it means they are cooler than just gloves, then I agree.

Got my first one 5 years ago, recommended by local bone-and-joint center. Just bought my third right-hand splint. I wear splints on both hands at the gym and while bicycling, and use the right splint overnight as well. With that much rough usage, you'll probably replace it within two years - but it's worth every cent. My painful arthritic thumb not only stabilized, but significantly improved (surprising, but my doctor says that often happens to patients using this splint). The design is ingenious, different from what you'll find at the typical local drugstore. Absolutely worth paying a little extra; five years on, I'm still functional and haven't needed any surgery. Years from now your thumbs will thank you.Re: fitting: Measure carefully to determine your size. It should feel comfortable, not constricting; the velcro should fasten with only moderate stretching - you shouldn't have to force it.

I sprained something using a very strong cordless drill and a hole saw. I tried a regular thumb brace, but it didn’t help much. After some Investigation, I figured out that it was my CMC (Carpal-metacarpal) joint, the joint just above the wrist. My other 2 thumb joints were fine. (I suspect this is an unusual injury, there are many mentions and braces for “gamekeeper’s thumb”, but not many for CMC.) I tried some local stores, nothing better. So, I bought this brace, it works great! Without brace, it hurts to pick up a 16-oz glass of water. With brace, I can pick up a 1/2 gallon carton of milk. I cut off part of the thumb sleeve (as described in directions) because I didn’t need support there. The brace is small enough to use with x-large winter gloves. I also used it with work gloves, cutting open the back of the glove to make room. Comfortable enough to sleep with (but beware of restricting circulation), still preferable to ouches during the night when moving bed covers or pillow.Update, 5 weeks later. This brace let me do any work (even heavy work, I made a small cut in the back of my work gloves to make more room) while my sprain was healing. After a few weeks, I needed it less and less, now only for very heavy work.
