I recommend cutting after tieing on the cage, my bird shredded the ties then got her foot tangled in it while I was not home.

It’s been a chilly winter, so I got my bird this warmer. The fabric is so soft, I can just imagine cuddling up to it. Plus, my cockatoo likes to pluck his feathers, so I thought this would be a way to keep him warm. He’s not scared of it, like he is of so many other things. And he liked it when I rubbed it on him. But since it’s been hanging, I haven’t seen him warm himself against it. I feel better knowing it’s there for him, but I honestly can’t say how effective it has been.

This is incredibly soft. I thought the shape was a little bit awkward. I wish that there were a better option for the ties. My boy that I am giving this too isn't a chewer, but I can definitely see how this would be a problem if your feathered friends are. It has gone unused so far. I put it in his cage right away but it's currently still "scary and evil" right now and I am waiting for him to warm up to it.

I bought this during the winter for my cockatiel, and he had zero interest. Maybe it depends on the bird. I thought, being a baby, he would love it.
