TLDR: Get a Waveshare SN65HVD230 board. You might have better luck with that.This is my test setup:- MCU: BluePill (STM32F1)- Terminated CAN-H and CAN-L with 120 Ohm.- Power the CAN adapter with 5V pins (Also tested and no luck with 3.3V)- BluePill powered by USB port- Monitor signal with USB-CAN AnalyzerThe same setup worked with Waveshare SN65HVD230 board.Tested and failed with 2 samples. Not patient enough to continue. Even 3rd piece works, its gonna be 1/3. Not worth my (and your) time.On another note, I tried to check the PCB and reverse the schematics but could not tell immediately what could went wrong. My suspect is that the main IC is a fake one. Another reason why you should not go with this.

Seeing this a lot on amazon these days, bogus boards. Finally had success with the same chip on a waveshare board. so go buy that one instead.

This may be the real thing! I say this because this version acts just like the real MCP2551 that I bought about 20 years ago, from Mouser!! (The larger chip shown in the pic).Other transceivers I've purchased here from Amazon Only receive CAN data, they will not send. Most people do not send CAN bits so they don't notice. Shame on Amazon! for this reason I call Amazon new new eBay, but at least have a good return policy. Aside from that, this chip appears to be the real deal.

None of the three boards worked! All junk.Save yourself the trouble and get the waveshare board.
